I've been browsing the other classes forums recently and something I've noticed. All of the other forums have at least 1 thread about "new abilites for XXXXX" which is essentially just a bunch of QQ about the **** other classes can do that XXXXX can't. Perhaps my favorite part is that about 90% of these abilities are just an attempt to homogenize the system because Shaman can't CC, Mages don't wear plate and Pallies don't top DPS. However, locks are super OP and thus we don't have a thread filled with whining. I propose we change this. I'm tired of being marginalized for being the best. I want new spells, too.

My suggestion:

Seed of Doom Coil. Instant cast DoT, ticks for 10k damage every 3 sec for 24 seconds, explodes after 24 seconds or when you attempt to reapply it on the same target, doing 10k damage to all enemies within 8yds, draining all of that life back into the lock and horrifying those enemies for 5 seconds. No cool down, not even the global.

Hey, at least no one else already has this one.

Curse of mental entrapment

Takes control of target player for up to 5 minutes. After which, that player will turn agressive and most likely attack you.


Siphon mana

A dot that drains mana.


Death Re-coil


Forces targeted player to relive a previous near death experience. That player will think he is being attacked by a fictitious mob and will think his health is decreasing. While affected, target player has no control of what his char is really doing which is probably dieing.

I want a few things myself... you've probobly seen them posted up here somewhere.

I want a Fiery Undead Demon Dragon epic Flyer (that I don't have to pay for.)

I want improved graphics on all the demons as you level, so we look badder-***.

I want a much-improved Enslave Demon that greatly ups the Warlock's options when in groups (30 minute enslave?).

I want a button that creates a random amount of Gold with a 1 minute cooldown, that you can reduce with Talents.

wtf? you aren´t already?

Just summon all your pets as we do, have the void tank, the felguard off-tank, the succu does some cc-job, the felhound takes care of dispelling, while you drain you imp for mana and apply damage.

Anyways i always wanted a Scatterbolt, and a Shadowbolt-trap.
Multi-Shadowbolt, anyone??

I would like:

Corrupted Rain; calls down Seeds of Corruption within a 30yard radius inflicting all enemy mobs/players with Seed of Corruption ticking for 500 damage per second, at the end of 4 seconds if not dispelled all mobs in 30 yard range takes 6000 Fire dmg and 6000 shadow dmg, if dispelled within 4 seconds, any target in 30 yard range takes 12000 shadow and 12000 fire dmg

Shadowblock- 20 minute duration (can be self dispelled)
encases the warlock in shadow, removing all threat and giving it to a targeted player. Also any damage done to the warlock is magnified by 200x and reflected back toward the enemy.

Teleport: Anywhere-
Warlock teleports anywhere he likes, teleportation bypasses any and all player restrictions on locations.

Summon doomsandwich-
Warlock creates doomsandwiches, food restoring 10% of HP and mana every 2 seconds, if you remain eating for 15 seconds you gain 50 stamina, 200 spelldamage and 500 spellhaste for 30 minutes.
Classes that may eat doomsandwiches- druid, hunter, paladin, priest, shaman, hunter, warlock.

Ritual of doompicnic- requires 2 additional party members.
Warlock creates a doomhamper containing up to 400 doomsandwiches which raid members can carry upto 40 of at any given time. a random player is sacrificed to create the hamper unless there are one or more mages present, in which case it sacrifices them instead.

Blood heal-
Heals the warlock, all raid members, all pets and all guild members dispite location to maximum health. Any dead players are revived to full.

Blindk-
Blinds your target making them unable to act for 10 seconds, any damage refreshes the spell to full duration. also teleports you forward 20 feet and ACTUALLY works properly on slopes and other terrain changes.

Hightened senses-
allows the warlocks pet to continue to attack a rogue even after vanish is used :P

Deathimorph-
turns the selected target into the angel of death, moving at 800% speed and killing any target it touches instantly. the angel of death follows a strict aggro table and has no preferance for friendlies or enemies.
aggro list- (highest first) mages, raid bosses, rogues, marshall windsor (strangely), everything else, the warlock.

Curse of greed-
curses the target with gold, gradually slowing thier movement rate to 0% over 24 seconds, after 24 seconds their health gradually drops 10% every 2 seconds for 18 seconds.
once the target gets below 15% health he can be looted by the warlock for 10x the gold the player was originally carrying.
targeted players with no gold have their armor deleted and the warlock may loot the mats.

Demonic Style, fool!- 1 talent point
Warlock gains attitude, allowing him to bling up like Mr T gaining-
8 extra ring slots
5 extra neck slots
4 extra wrist slots
New flightpath animation - constant self fear until destination is reached.

i remember the bugged SoC on the one ptr build a few months back. it had a range greater than the entirety of AV and dealt over 100k damage on hit.

it was awesome.

It could be set up like this: On their screen it looks like they took a lot of damage, but in fact they didn't. Think a death coil that looks like it hits for 1000-10000 damage (at 70). They won't die for having no "health" only when that actually have no health. Something like an illusion that just changes the UI display of their current health. Add horrify and a 2-5 minute cooldown and you have a spell balanced for PVE and PVP.

Pandemonium
[Demonology] Costs 1 Soulshard: Summons all your demons at the same time. Lasts 30 minutes.

Demonic self
[Demonology] Transforms the warlock into a demon (the demonic form of leotheras would be a nice visual). Your armor is increased by 1000%, Stregth is equal to your intellect, attackpower equal to spelldamage. While in this form casting time is reduced by 50%

Curse of Latency
[Affliction] Target players latency is increased by an amount equal to the warlock's spelldamage. Can be affected by amplify curse.

Eye for Eye
[Affliction] Places a curse on target. Target recieves 50% of melee damage it inflicts to you. Non-damage effects (stun, move-impairing,...) are applied 100% equal on target.

Nemesis
[Destruction] Casts a bolt of nether essence to a target within 30 yards. If it is a mage, it dies. If not, then it places the "Mageslayer" debuff (magic, not curse) on target. This debuff lasts for 30 minutes or untill target comes within 30 yards of a mage, thus killing him/her.

For an actual spell I was thinking about that realistically could work, how's about this?

Illusion Bolt-Shadow-1.8 second cast time
25 yd range
The Warlock casts a Shadowbolt that veers off-course from the target to the nearest enemy unit. If that enemy unit is a pet/minion/underling, said enemy takes 3.5x damage and the next Illusion Bolt shall be a critical hit. If this spell kills a pet/minion/underling, it may not be revived or re summoned for an additional 30 seconds. This spell will hit stealthed and invisible players if closest to the target. The max distance allowed between the target is 12 yds.

Curse of Reanimation-Shadow-1.2 second cast time
30 yd range
The Warlock curses the target, taking an additional +10 Shadow damage with each Shadow spell cast on the target, for an addition of a max of +150. If the target dies by the Warlock's hand with a Shadow Spell (other than Soul Drain), the target's death animates a zombie with -3 levels of the Warlock, dieing after 180 seconds. The zombie may not be buffed, healed, nor resurrected. 10% of the zombie's damage dealt is healed to the Warlock, and if Soul Link is active, the zombie takes an additional 15% of the Warlock's damage along with the summoned demon taking damage. The unit does count as undead and is easily destroyed by holy attacks.

Summon Ghost-Shadow-10 second cast time
10,000 yd range
The Warlock summons a spirit of the dead to enfeeble targets. The ghost is immortal, but cannot attack. Instead of having mana, it operates based off Energy like a Rogue.

Dark Empowerment-25 Energy auto-cast-every tick has a 10% chance to activate Dark Empowerment, making the rest of the spell deal 35% more damage. 25 Energy is not taken away unless the spell activates the effect.
Haunt-40 energy-Reduces damage dealt by the target by 5% for 25 seconds.
Terror-55 energy-2.5 second Fear, no DR, 30 second cooldown
Possess-100 energy-Ghost possesses the target, making the target 25% more susceptible to Shadow damage for 8 seconds while increasing all cooldowns of the target by 6 seconds. The Ghost dies after use.
