Macro's working in 2.4Follow

#1 Apr 08 2008 at 8:14 PM Rating: Excellent
I decided he other day to tidy up my UI and make some long over due macros. I search for awhile and found a lot of out of date ones and others that really didn't do what I wanted. This is what I ended up with in the end.

/focus [target=mouseover,exists]
/clearfocus [target=mouseover,noexists]

Bind it to a key, hold your mouse pointer over what you want to set as focus and hit the key. To clear focus just move the pointer away from everyone and hit the key.

#showtooltip
/cast [target=focus,help][help][target=pet,exists,nodead] Misdirection

Casts MD to your focused target. If you don't have a focus, casts MD on your target if its friendly, or casts MD on your pet if its not dead.

#showtooltip
/cast [modifier] Revive Pet; [target=pet, dead] Revive Pet; [nopet] Call Pet; Mend Pet

#showtooltip
/cast [modifier] Mend Pet(rank1)
/cast feed pet
/use <Pet Food Name>

These two I keep next to each other. The first one revives your pet if its dead. If you can't see your pets body hold down a mod key (shift, alt or Ctrl) to revive. If you pet is alive then it heals it. If its not with you it calls it.

The second one feeds your pet with the name of the food you put in there. If you hold down a mod key it heals it with Mend Pet rank 1. This is great if you have iMP because it uses less mana to dispel a debuff.

#showtooltip
/castrandom [nomod,target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, !Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

Last one for now.... a nice simple 1:1 shot rotation with Kill Command. If you hang up on the Kill Command hold down a mod key to break it.

Hope these can be of help to someone.

Nice post.

I'll add a few of mine I use.

#showtooltip
/cast [exists] Arcane Shot; [target=pettarget] Arcane Shot
/autoshot

This will fire off arcane if you have a target, if you lose your target it will attack your pets target, useful for grinding through big crowds.

#showtooltip
/focus [help,modifier:shift]
/cast [target=focus,exists,help] Misdirection; [help] Misdirection; [target=pet,exists] Misdirection

This is my misdirection macro, hold shift to focus, use without shift to misdirect on focus if focus exists, misdirect on current target if it's friendly or misdirect on pet otherwise.

/run local t="target" if (UnitName(t)~=nil) then SendChatMessage("MESSAGE HERE","WHISPER",nil,UnitName(t)) end

Not hunter related but very useful for whispering lots of people. Just target and click.

Good informational post. Here is my main macro.

/cast Hunter's Mark

Simple but effective.

My high-tech macro I spam constantly is:

/cast Steady Shot
/cast Kill Command

I don't kno wwhy people add all the stuff about error frames and whatnot, this works perfectly.

The error frames get rid of the error text on your screen, which is annoying otherwise. Mulgrin (or an admin) please put this into the sticky.

If you have a wind serpent you should add

/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Lightning Breath

Also sometimes /castrandom works better for KC and LB, keeps it from getting stuck

The idea for the windserpent is a good one. Nice Xsarus.

huge lists.

The problem with those lists is half the macros don't work because of the updates. The first line on the first site says

For more info on the new macro syntax introduced in patch 2.0.....
. I wanted to make a thread with macros that work with 2.4 so people didn't have to troll through none working macros to find what they wanted.

My Misdirection macro is slightly different to above:

#showtooltip Misdirection
/stopcasting
/cast [help] [target=targettarget, help] [target=pet, exists] Misdirection

Cast Misdirection on Target if it's friendly, or on Target of my Target, or on my pet.

I find this very helpful in instances, because I usually have the skull mob targeted, and when I click my MD macro, it gets cast on the tank.

I put the Stopcasting line in so that my Autoshoot stopped when it was cast. It gives you a chance to decide which shot combination to use for the aggro.
