Since we can now summon while inside the instance / raid I have been going thru shards at an incredible rate. People now won't even bother to run back in Kara, they just come inside the door and expect to be summoned up to where we wiped.

How many shards are you guys/gals now carrying just to summon people? Last night in Kara I went through about 30 shards just for summons alone. At what point, if any, do you tell them to run their lazy butt back?

Inquirying mind wants to know.

P.S. this is not a QQ, just curious in how other ppl perceive the new ability.

Um... you could always summon people who were inside the same instance as you. This is nothing new. How many shards I carry depends on what we're fighting, but in general I don't carry more than a dozen, maybe up to 20 if I'm a DS spec. Yes, I run out sometimes, but in general it's not a problem.

I just use the 28 slot bag, if it isnt full im filling it on most trash. I cant understand how you can blow through all your shards on summons, if the raid wipes i may help the odd straggler but most of my shards are lost on bosses/soulstones/soulwells.

Personally i love being able to summon into instances, little conveniances like that add to our classes utility well.

Pro tip:
Getting used to summoning back people who hearth out to repair?
Your armor damaged too?
Simply target yourself and cast the ritual, hearth out, repair, and accept your own summon before it runs out ;)

Now THAT, if it works, is a TOP TIP.

that's worked since they introduced the summoning spell :P though before 2.4 you had to run outside the instance first, but still.. something I'd always do with mates if i needed to pop back to the bank/ah for something

I laugh at them when they ask me to summon their lazy asses deeper into an instance. I only summon people for replacements.

Guess I need to quit being such a softy then. As for the wipes, it's a new PUG kara group with nobody but the tanks really geared for it. We die alot. However ppl are learning and I expect this to get better.

About half the ppl get lost from the back entrance in, since most are new to this. That's where lots of my shards go to.

LOL

Ya that looks like something Id just up and drop in search of a more organized raiding situation.

For most progressive guilds, Kara is on farm status for the 2.4 Badge rewards, and putting up with Wipe after wipe just isn't worth it.

For summoning lost or people that wandered, I'll do it once for someone. A few times if they have valid reasons... it's simply unacceptable to get lost that much tho. Kara is a huge and complex zone -- thats why you stay with people who know where they're going.

Xenexia, if you summon them, they will never learn the correct way up ;)

I usually have a full 28-slot bag, although I honestly never get it below 20. In terms of summoning, I do it if it helps the raid by saving time.... shards are for free. However, I do not support lazyness, just as our healers expect everybody to run back into the instance after a wipe and not just lie waiting for rezz.

My guildmates have legs to run back as I do... anyone not running back can have their legs removed by my felguard (or if I'm in a cruel mood, by my felhunter ;D)

Jen, Jen, Jen...sometimes you can be so superior. Which makes you sound like a c*nt. Which I know you're not. But watch it, eh. Some people are less aware.
