What's the lowest level at which you've been 1-shotted in a situation where you were fighting mobs of about the same level (or maybe slightly lower than) you?

I just hit 24 on my mage, but at 23 I got one-shotted while tanking the last boss in WC (before the escort). My friend was running me and two other mages through on his 70 pally, and said "I'm getting you guys ready for gruuls" and just healed on boss fights. 548 HP on me, guy crit me for 590.

Dont remember the specifics, but a got a friend of mine to run me through SFK when i was only oh 18 or 19 ,I don't remember exactly, and on the final boss me (being a noob) went "Oh i wanna tank you can heal me!" ,he was a 65 priest. So we did, and Arugal' shadow bolt crit me for much more than my health and i immediatly died.

That was when i was first one-shotted

This doesn't exactly count as a mob but here it goes. I went into the 10-19 bgs as a level 13 and the alliance had one of those 10 rogue twinks. That rogue backstabbed me and instantly killed me. It happened 4 times in that bg.

I can't remember exactly at what lvl, but I was a young undead mage who was happily burning up critters in Tirisfall Glades. I must have been around lvl 12-15 when I saw an opening into a new and unexplored territory. Excited I gathered my things and wen't adventuring.

When I first came to this new and exciting place i did notice some people and a crude barricade that I had to pass, but I thought nothing of it. After all this was a low lvl zone, close to our proud capitol and I trusted in my ability to burn anything in my way.

Imagine my dissapointment, when after 5 steps into the new zone, I meet a lvl ?? bear that looks VERY hungry. Fireballs did nothing to the damned thing and running did me no good either. That was the untimely end of Foulmouth of the Forsaken; mage, adventurer and a bit overconfident.

Note to future adventures: Stay out of Western Plaguelands. You are not prepared! ;)

Edit: Ok, not one-shot by mobs my own lvl, but VERY much one-shot anyway :D

When I was just starting my first character in I jumped over the barrier that takes you over to ratchet, to be greeted by a ?? mob (could have been 12 or 13 for what I know) and killed me in one or two hits.

Gotta love the Welcome Bear. Happened to me on my first character ever, an Undead Rogue.

It kinda makes you wonder if the placement of western plaguelands is just some cruel joke by blizzard to own noobs. It seems every fresh undead has headed that way and got owned

You should hear the stories of lowbie Alliance characters who try to go to IF from SW without knowledge of the Tram.

I convinced my roommate to do that, once. Smiley: laugh

Wow, it must be late. I've been playing wow for a few years now and for a second I thought I had run from SW to IF on all my characters to get the FP... it was only IF to menethil. whew!!

Just like the Ghostlands are just north of EPL. Isn't that like a 20-30 lvl difference, or am I just confusing myself with something else?

Anyway, as for being one-shotted by a mob, hasn't happened yet. Now, last night, my 70 hunter friends was going to run us through ZF, and she one -shotted me (41), but by a mob, I've been lucky.

Ghostlands are like 10-20, EPL is 55+ IIRC. So that's a 35 level difference.

That's what I thought... it's like Blizz has it out for the horde. Then again, alliance does have Redridge to, I believe it's Burning Steppes.

Yeah, but you have to go through a portal to aggro something in EPL. Redridge/Burning Steppes...it's just a...

My level 70 hunter friend offered to help run my level 17 druid and another friend level 23 paladin through the quests in redridge mountains. We went over to the the position where Gath'ril (not sure of the spelling) is because my paladin friend has the quest to kill him. I barely walk up near to the doorway when the next thing I know is that I am dead... didn't even see what hit me.

Also... for us to get to Exodar or Darnassus from the Eastern continent, we have to go through the Wetlands to Menethil which at level 15 or lower is um SCARY. Also true vice versa too for getting to IF or SW.

When I made a horde toon, I was like wow... getting to all the cities is a breeze. UC to SMC is just a portal between. UC to Org is a flying ship. Only pain is Org to TB and it's only barrens running along the road. I did that at like level 7 and didn't encounter any mobs. lol

First time my poor level 23 mage was 1-shot was when I walked into Loch Modan, PvP flagged (I'm always PvP flagged), and some trigger happy warrior hit me over the head with his hammer. I was only level 12 back then. After this, I got oneshot by Arugal, who's shadowbolt decided to crit me for way more then my health, at level 22. That was before I learned that being a mage in a party with a tank that goes AFK in the middle of a fight is very unhealthy.

I was about 25 or so and thought it would be a great idea to swim around the continent. So I made my departure around the top of DarkShore, headed around the top and started my way back down to what I later came to understand as Wintersprings when I ran into a ?? mob in the water and promptly died. 2 or 3 hits not sure.

Now I had no way to get to my body on the other side of the mountains so I just spirit rezed to see myself face to face with a giant. It was a rock giant. Aparently my spirit found its way to the place just east of ashenvale because I was surrounded by stupid hypogryphs and giants. Needless to say. a lvl 25 in a 50-55 zone pre-bc I was not a happy camper. In fact I almost couldn't hearth because of mob placement. I took 1 step in any direction and I aggroed something to come step on me.
