It may not have been the best upgrade, but its not like I had to pick one or the other, I had the badges for it right then, and I will get the MH next. Im already 1/2 way there.

Let me educate you, since none of the shamans on this forum seem to want to.

OH damage when DWing receives a 50% damage penalty. Ergo your 103 DPS fist is actually a 51.5 DPS fist.

Upgrading from a 71 DPS blue (of which there are a lot) or a 91 DPS S1 item (which are extremely easy to get) would net you the following DPS upgrades:

71 DPS to 103 DPS: ~16 DPS
91 DPS to 103 DPS: ~6 DPS

Of course with WF and all that jazz it's a wee bit more, but now let's check out how the numbers differ with a MH, shall we?

71 DPS to 103 DPS: ~32 DPS
91 DPS to 103 DPS: ~12 DPS

So there you go. Had you not bought your OH, you'd almost have a ~32 DPS upgrade. Of course it's way more when you factor in WF procs, but hey, I'm not a shaman math whiz, just a common sense guru.

Being impatient and not planning out purchases makes you have bad gear.

Its hard to tell from your post where your guild is in terms of progression, but my recommendations would be as follows.

The arena gear (particularily S3) and the honor gear provides a pretty decent starting place for a lot of slots. If you're going through all that trouble though getting pvp gear, I might really try to find an arena team that can get up to 1850 for the weapons, saving you ~100 badges for the MH. It actually shouldnt be too hard, as there has been some people recently posting on the O-boards about some success in 3's (War, Enhance, Druid IIRC) and 5's (generally 3-4 melee teams w/ a Disc priest).

IMHO, the most essential S3 armor piece to get for you PVE set is the S3 helm. You probably wont be seeing anything much better than that for a long time (well into T6 content). I would NOT recommend getting the chest piece however. It has too many points wasted in MP5, which is completly useless for your DPS.

It sounds like your guild is into 25-mans, and with the recent removal of attunements for BT and MH, you could try to organize them to try to get (at least) the first couple of bosses in both of them. Even w/ Kara gear, using full consumables should be able to get you through the "loot pinata's" of T6 content, which can also net some great pieces. If you're into T5 content already, I would highly recommend pieces like the Hydross shoulders and the Karathress Chest, which are pretty hard to replace even well into T6 content. Heck, you could even try to farm trash in SP for the glove pattern and the sick fist OH.

Other than that, farm the heck out of Heroic MgT until you get your Shard, which is the best in game trinket for us.

Heck, there are even a few of the craftables that might work well. I know I'm still using the Belt of Deep Shadows, a BOE craftable from SSC. Since you can buy all the mats, you should be able to find someone to craft it pretty easily.
There really is a ton of options for you right now to gear up, so its really up to you where you want to go.

Finally, in case nobody has pointed you there yet, the last piece for a PVE enhance shammy needs to go for information is the Elitist Jerks forums and the thread that they have there regarding itemization and cycles. Just make sure to read the OP (or the wiki now I suppose) before you post anything, or you may get some rude responses from people tired of asking the same questions over and over.

Jade: Thanks for the input. The little guild that my shammy is in is just starting out in SSC/TK. Personally, I got done with the raiding scene a while back, and have just recently started goofing off again with it. They only take me to the raids when they are having issues with a pull or boss and need help, so mainly I just wander around and farm badges for fun since I'm kinda a burnout when it comes to raiding. lol. However, that is good info and I'll look into the possibility of raiding with some of my old raiding friends who are still in bigger guilds, see if they can squeeze me in for a fun-run sometime.

Theophany: Yes I know about the OH penalty, thanks for the tip just the same. I understand that I could've had a 'better' upgrade to my MH 1st, but the issue here is threat, not what you think of the order of my gear selection. Furthermore, its not like I'm not allowed to get the MH any more if i get the OH 1st. I can still buy it, the vendor hasn't run out yet. Besides, in another week when I have both, will it make a difference?

Besides, the dps difference during the period of time where I have the OH and not the MH is moot because - I'm having threat issues - Hence the Title of this Thread. Getting more dps sooner would have been bad and lead to me dying more. I'm not sure when or how this thread took a wrong turn, but this thread is about Shaman threat issues and how to avoid pulling agro. I'm sorry I derailed us slightly by asking about where to get gear, I should have made a separate thread. Thanks for the suggestion just the same, but I now return us to our previous topic..lol

Cheers

To your gear question:
PvP gear is no longer the best, nor really even on par. MrT and badges changes everything. The only piece of arena gear I'd get would be the helm, and then keep racking up the ten games a week just for points to fill in spots, since it should only take about an hour to get those in. Spend the rest of your time farming badges, especially from heroic MrT.

Off the top of my head, here's what I'd aim for:
Helm: S3, and until you get that I'd either get or equip the blue leather helm from the SV quest, the meta is incredibly important. Actually, hold on, you're engineering, that helm is even better than S3. Get that leveled!
Neck: Heroic SSO. Do dailies, farm MrT.
Shoulder: MrT one.
Back: Badges PvP cloak or the crafted Kara cloak.
Chest: MrT, either the non-heroic or the heroic one. Heroic is slightly better and you don't have to buy any gems. S3 is, strictly speaking, slightly better, but you want your helm first.
Wrist: Master Assassin's from badges, yours will hold over until then
Hands: Rapidity from badges, either of the leather ones from Kara until then
Waist: Silent Path from badges, Bladeangel's from Bear in ZA before then
Legs: Scryer's Retainer's from badges is incredible.
Feet: Tabi boots from badges, before that normal MrT.
Rings: The ones from Prince and badges. Your S3 one is a bit worse than both of those, better than anything else.
Trinkets: Shard from heroic MrT. If you go to Gruul's, get Dragonspine.
Weapons: Breeching Comet for mainhand until you get badges.
Totem: Stonebreaker from badges.

Basically, you need a lot of MrT, and a lot of badges. And the only PvP you should really be going after for instance gear is the S3 ring, except that you already have it.
