Awesome. Did you see the tps in the ktm windows? That T5 dps was seriously holding back. To do that little tps, I'd have to only autoshot, and I probably would have to wait a long time to send in my pet.

pretty damn impressive.

Aside from that, he is a huntard, and what guild would want to give loot to a huntard being a huntard?

Must be nice to have that kind of time on your hands.

Me, I can find a better way to spend 4 hours than wiping my way to Opera.

If you guys read his page a little more carefully, it's not that he's stupid or doesn't know what he's doing... He's roll playing.

A mountaineer livin' alone above Coldridge Valley, food were gettin' pretty scarce. Mah pet dog one day were hungry enough teh take a bite outta me right hand, an' took two o' me fingers. After tha' it were a bit hard teh shoot a gun or draw a bow. Nat'rally, I ate the dog a'fore I come down out o' the hills. Crippled, 'ungry, and alone, still, weren't nobody goin' ta tell me I could'na fight...

I think it's damn funny, and quite impressive.

Yeah, there's a few quite impressive roleplayers around. Take a look at that Gnome Warrior for instance. He apparently had a rather nasty mechachocobo (I can never recall the name of the gnome mount) accident, and couldn't ever use a mount again, nor run.

He has walked from level 1 to 70, and never used a mount. Any instance, tanking at a walk. Any travel, walk. PvP, walk.

Could you pull that off? I would delete the character at level 5 if I had to disable run.

I'd kick anyone out of my group if they insisted on walking... However, I suppose that's why I don't play on an RP server.

Gutrot leveled his troll warrior mostly naked, and there's someone who is leveling a toon without killing anything too.
(he does participate in BG's for the repeatable xp giving daily but as he is a priest he's just healing people)

Well I tanked Veraxuswhatsface in Magisters Terrace (regular mode) after pulling aggro off the pally tank. Love them Sv crits!

I'm not saying the guy's lying, but I just don't see how it's possible for a hunter in melee-range to top the threat list? Up close, we have NO special abilities that build threat. It's just one threat per damage, and that aint gonna be much..
Even if another hunter just auto attacked from range, wouldn't he pull aggro?

But But...
He had +2% threat to gloves.
That's the secret.

How'd he make it to level 10 tho?

In group you get xp even if not killing... he is healing others...

Perfect reason the phrase Huntard came about...

OMG, I just caught up with this. The story gives a name and a realm, so I looked him up on the Armory.
Unless he is leaving his character static to maintain the April Fool's joke, this is a true story, down to the 2% Threat enchant on his gloves. He's a poor Tank, to be sure, with only 398 Defense, 34% Dodge and 12% Parry, and only about 1k more Health than I have in my PvP gear set. He'll eat crits and crushings all day long. But he's Revered with VI, so it looks like he's been on a few Kara runs as a melee Huntard...

Ah, I commonly forget Resilience when thinking about critability. Too old school, and not a tank.

he's a friggin' ROLE-PLAYER!
NOT a huntard, NOT an April Fool's Joke - a 100% die-hard, CREATIVE ROLE-PLAYER!

And he is welcome to it. It's his account, his monthly fee, and his friends who are experimenting with him playing as an off-tank or even a tank.

That doesn't mean I can't poke huge amounts of fun at it, or that I have to respect it, any more that I'd respect a chess player who said "My king likes personal combat. I'm advancing him into the middle of the board to role play that perfectly valid play option."

Go for it, combat-King-boy. I'll school you all the same.

Why wouldn't you respect him though? It's not as if he's trying to say that it's in anyway better then the normal way of doing things, he's simply experimenting with class mechanics to see what all hunters can do. I think it's pretty damn impressive for him to hold threat at all. Do you also not respect the boomkin tanks because they aren't usually used for tanking? One of them tanked gruul, after all, which is rather impressive.

Don't mix this kind of RP and experimental stuff with people who actually think that melee is better.

any more that I'd respect a chess player who said "My king likes personal combat. I'm advancing him into the middle of the board to role play that perfectly valid play option."

You clearly haven't done the chess event lately Smiley: laugh

I didn't say I didn't respect him, but that I didn't respect it, meaning his play style. I don't respect it because it isn't effective, just as I wouldn't respect the tactic of advancing your King into the center of the chess board.

That is amazing. I'd still be reluctant to group with a "hunter tank", but this is still a very impressive feat.

This seems like as much "ineffective" fun as having Gnome-only instance runs, with two warriors, and when one gets wounded, the other one taunts and gets aggro while the first one bandages himself.

Well the real news on this is not that he managed to be a Tank at all but that he was with a group that understood fully how they all should play their roles and the roles of other classes to enable him to be a Tank , The healers were able to keep him healed and the DPS players controlled their attacks to allow him to hold aggro , If only more players knew how to work together we would probably see more weird Styles of playing in different Classes out there in our world , Most DPS players try to nuke everything as fast as possible , this shows that is not always needed...
