This past weekend some guildies had told me that I should be fine doing lower kara. (After they've been wanting to go through some things with me to get gear and before they actually inspected what I had on). One in particular said that he's seen me in action and that I do very well with the gear I have, and that I've got my rotation and everything down.
Definitely gave me a boost in confidence of my ability as a rogue. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying to aim for honor or running an instance to get better gear, but I don't feel as "far behind" as I had been.
I understand that I've got a while to go, and that's it is going to take time, but at least I know that I'm not failing as a rogue and that there is hope for me.
Just wanted to share some corny, heart-felt story. Moral of the story? Don't underestimate yourself. You could be better than you think. =)
Edit: for horrible grammar
