Good morning all! I currently am sporting a fine ole' tank gun...I mean

that I have been using for the past couple months. The reason for the initial purchase was that I had just recently turned 70, had money to burn and it was up for 600 Gold bid to buy it. I bid and ended up winning and it has treated me well so far. I have been doing strictly PvP on my hunter and almost have the honor saved up to purchase the S1 Crossbow http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=28294;source=live.
So, would it be worth it to purchase the Crossbow ASAP? I have just respecc'd to Marksman, loving it and just can't decide how much better MM would be with this harder hitting bow. Thank in advance for your help!

The bow would indeed be better.
If you gemmed the gun with 8 resillience, you'd lose 15 stam but gain 4 res, 12 crit, 26 Ap and 50-70 dmg per shot.

With S4 around the corner it might be beneficial to just wait it out. S1 is gonna go away and S2 is gonna cost the same as S1 honor wise.

i would save too, but s4 could be up to 2 months away from everything that ive read.
As far as i know, blue posts have said that S4 wont be released until PvE gear has caught up to PvP gear in PvP.
So it could very well be that there wont be a S4 until after the release of WotLK.

Well, you can be pretty sure that S4 will be out before WotLK due to the fact that the weapons are already in the game and are lvl 70. However we have no idea when this will be. I'm betting in a month or two when the Island is finished.

Do you have a reference for this? Cool if ya don't, I know how it goes remembering reading something but not knowing where it is anymore, but I'd like to read it in detail if 'ya do.
I hardly ever browse the O-boards but i know 100% sure that someone on the main WoW forums here linked to a blue post saying that a while back.

The crossbow is indeed much better. I won't wait for S4 tho, as stated above, just because no one really knows when S4 will be released, it might be tomorrow, it might be next year for all we know :)
