Crit % goal?Follow

Starting to enter SSC where should my crit be in cat form? And is crit % a universal trait meaning all classes have the same cap or does it differ from class to class?

The more you got the better. Realistically once you start getting good attack power there is no point at which strength becomes better than agility point-for-point.

Not to hijack but I was just about to post a similar question when I saw this thread, so I shall ask here. With a slight gear tweak a few minutes ago my lv 63 feral druid just usurped my lv 70 survival hunter's total crit%. Is that a bad thing? Should a feral druid have more crit% than a survival hunter if the two are equally geared (since they tend to use similar stats)?

Does this mean I have a better than average druid?

Or a lower than average hunter?

Or both?

3 things to Tavarde:

1. Druids get a better crit conversion from agility than hunters do.

2. Full Survival focuses highly on agility.

3. Druids get more +crit% talents out of feral than Hunters do out of survival.

A basic rule is: more crit is better. So aim as high as you can get. Also check out Toskks' AP vs. agi calcutation. He made a nice graf showing where agi=ap, so you can see what to focus on based on your current stats. Click

Survival hunters have 3% tooltip crit from talents, feral druids have 11%. Also, at level 70, druids only need 25 agility for 1% crit, hunters need 40.

As for there being a crit "cap", if you're hit-capped with 0 expertise and attacking from the front, you're actual crit % will cap at around 50%. Any extra crit % will be pushed off the table by glancing blows, block, parry, and dodge. When you're attacking from behind, the crit cap should be around 66%, since you only have to deal with glancing blows and dodge.

As for an actual goal for % crit, I'd aim for 40% unbuffed. I usually float around 44% unbuffed myself, but 40% is a good number to aim for.
