The first quest is found in the basement of the Slaughtered Lamb, in the Mage Quarter.

He will send you to Takar the Seer, who can be found HERE in the Barrens. To get to the Barrens you will have to:

Take the Deeprun Tram from the Dwarven Quarter in Stormwind to Ironforge.
Pick up the Flight Path in Ironforge.
Run from Ironforge South then East, to Loch Modan
Follow the road in Loch Modan north, to Thelsamar.
Pick up the Thelsamar Flight Path.
Continue following the road North.
Enter the Wetlands, continue following the road.
Follow the road west when you reach a crossroads to go North or West.
Enter Menethil Harbour.
Pick up the Flight Path here.
Take the boat from the NORTH Harbour to Auberdine,
Pick up the Flight Path here.
Follow the road out of Auberdine Southwards to Ashenvale
Continue following the road south and east to Astranaar.
Pick up the Flight Path.
Follow the road east out of Astranaar. AVOID THE GUARDS OUTSIDE THE HORDE CAMP.
This road will curve south, and reach a gate to the Barrens. Follow the walls of the gate to find a gap blasted through it, unguarded, and go through.

Then head to the location in THIS map. Continue the quests until you get the Heartswood quest. Run back north to Ashenvale, then follow THIS map to find the Heartswood itself. Loot it and use your Hearthstone to return to Stormwind.
