Low level gear?Follow

#1 Apr 03 2008 at 7:15 PM Rating: Decent
My lock is L32 right now; here is a link to my Armory profile. Edit: Updated.

I feel unsatisfied with my gear right now. I haven't run into any gameplay problems. I can do those tricks to solo faster, I do well in instances and I'm having plenty of fun doing it all (locks are this game's badass class) but right now I just feel like a mage with different spells (edit: If you looked at my Armory profile, you'll know what I mean). I still have plenty of levels to go, so I'm wondering on a number of things.

1. Is there any better low-level lock gear out there?
2. Should I even care?
3. Is my gear actually bad for this level or is it just me?

You could probably upgrade those level 11 boots somewhere, but all in all you are fine and you shouldn't be concerned. Once you hit the 40's and 50's you'll start to notice the power and even then don't be concerned until you hit the outlands about your gear.

I never worried about gear at lower levels, and will never understand why people do. As you level, you'll get quest rewards that are upgrades, and drops from Instances, and that is plenty. Why worry about something that you'll replace in a few levels anyway?

Memorize this (for your current level): ... of the Eagle. You should have more stamina than int, because for warlocks, health=mana. None of your Blue items are warlock gear. It's almost too bad that they're soulbound, because they would have done you better auctioned off to a deserving mage.

for shoulders, try quest:fallen sky lake. the reward is a green item, but the stats are better: [wowitem=17047]Luminescent Amice[/wowitem]

For your head, go to the SM graveyard and kill the Fallen Champion (30-33 elite) for [wowitem=7691]Embalmed Shroud[/wowitem]

Your current robes aren't bad, but if you're going to go through SM, try to pick up [wowitem=7728]Beguiler Robes[/wowitem] while you're there.

[wowitem=4040]Nightsky Gloves[/wowitem] should replace your L17 blue gloves. If you can't get them as a drop, they are fairly common in the AH.

the best pants for you are [wowitem=2277]Necromancer Leggings[/wowitem], but they are not very common. Instead, I suggest going to Shadowfang Keep and getting [wowitem=23173]Abomination Skin Leggings[/wowitem] from Sever (one of the bosses there).

[wowitem=6406]Nightsky Boots[/wowitem] will do wonders for your feet, and get rid of your lowest level item as well. Again, if you can't get them as a drop, they are pretty common in the AH.

Sever was a temporary boss during the Scourge Invasion and isn't there anymore.

Some other good pants would be Blighted Leggings from a rare spawn named Azshir the Sleepless in SM Graveyard. This same rare spawn also drops a very nice neck for a warlock and a high damage wand. So if you find him you're gonna get something nice for your efforts.

Great for you, but the OP said (and his profile confirmed it) that he's level 30. That would be just starting STV, and probably not on a PvP realm.

Thanks for the tips, everyone, especially OMG.

Actually, I'm on a PvP server. =P

Update: I found and purchased a bunch of new gear. My health is still less than my mana but I'm getting there. At least my STA is over my INT now.

Necromancer Leggings are awesome! I like my robe, but think I might be replacing it soon. Gloves and boots don't have a heads-above-the-rest type that I know of.

I need to get the wand from SM, and maybe enchant a few things and I'll be set for a few more levels.
