Well this morning I just dinged 70 since I started playing on various toons last August. And really now I'm quite lost. I want to do heroics, BGs, all that good stuff but I'm lost on where to start. Right now play time is limited so I'm just planning to do dailies and build up a bit of cash to finance whatever I decide to go for, but I have a few questions I'd like to ask.

Oh, and for reference, armoury is here: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Moon+Guard&n=Erenyin

Thought I logged out in healing gear buy evidently not, hopefully it'll change that soon since I just logged in and did.

Anyway, questions:

1 - I got those pretty goggles a couple of levels ago and someone gave me the gem for free. Now since they're going to last a fair while, I'm going to spend money on good gems rather than just the vendor crap I got for the other things.

So, my problem it which meta gem to use?

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25901

Those seem to be the only two that would help. The problem is that I can't decide.

Insightful, how often does that proc? Because it seems to be better but the requirements also look harder to fill, most likely needing multi-coloured gems which cost quite a bit and with my gear as crap as it is, I don't want to spend 140G gemming something that won't last a great amount of time.

Meanwhile the Bracing diamond doesn't look as great, since I already have Subtlety and 2% isn't that much. Any advice?

2 - Heroics.

Right now my gear is pretty poor. Some is nice, but it's mostly low-60s instance stuff and the shoulders, belt and boots need replacing quite badly. So obviously I'm not ready to run any heroics. But what exactly are the recommended Health, Mana, +healing and MP5 values to shoot for before I start running them?

3 - Gear in general. I know for some classes there are certain sets to shoot for, ie. frozen shadowweave, etc. Is there any such gear for druids? Or anything in particular I should run instances/grind rep to grab specifically?

That's all for now, but I'm sure I'll end up finding something I forgot to ask. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I've never played resto, and I hate to sound like a jerk so don't take it the wrong way, but did you check out the druid resources post here? I quickly browsed through, because I use a lot of those links to help me find tanking gear and I found this under resto.

http://druid.wikispaces.com/Resto_Endgame_Healing

and I did read through most of that page because it helped ME know about druid healing, anddd if you click the Gear link on the side, it brings you down the page to the gear section and has...

If you don't have a lot of play time, i would recommend getting as much honor as you can and filling out your gear with pvp pieces. They are easy epics that work ok for filling out a pve set. There are various things you can pick up like the idol out of nonheroic Shadow labs that are cool. Also you could consider getting D3 priest pieces, theyre cloth but theyre great for healing pve. Dont shy away from other cloth healing pieces, of course. There arent too many good crafted leather pieces, but there is a good alchemy trinket and the primal mooncloth set works great if you know other tailors and have access to mounds of cloth. also enchanting is kind of necessary for all of the imbued netherweave you have to make. More than anything though, i would say focus on getting pvp gear until you have around 1-1.1k +healing and a mana pool of at least 8.5-9k. Your mana regen while not casting will suffer but you should be ok to step into heroics at that point and start increasing ur spirit count.

I wouldn't start buying the more expensive blue (rare) gems until you get epics, but what you can do for gems is stick to red "+ healing" gems, just using purple "+healing/spirt" or orange "+healing/int" to meet meta requirements. Until you start getting into longer raid fights, total +healing is more important than max mana pool and mana regen, especially when you can always save your innervate for yourself.

You might also consider getting Silver Spellthread for your legs once you get a level 70 piece, raising your Aldor rep to Honored for the shoulder enchant, and getting Thrallmar rep to Revered for the head glyph. Along the way, you can pick up the blue PvP resto gear from rep with CE, LC, KoT, Sha'tar, and Thrallmar.
