I spent last night reinstalling WoW and downloading all the updates. I have been playing FFXI and DDO, but I have been getting bored. I am returnign to WoW mostly to participate in the group PvP, because I think that is what I'm missing in my other games, and to a lesser extent raiding.

I have a 60 gnome mage on Lethon and a 56 troll hunter on Anub'Arak. It was my impression Horde seems to have the edge in group PvP so that eliminates the gnome mage. My hunter is a troll and quite frankly, I don't like looking at him. I intend to try my hand at an Orc Warlock on Anub'Arak.

A couple questions I'm hoping for help with...

#1 - Assuming I go with afflication and I want to break up leveling with some PvP along the way, what are suggested levels to do so?

#2 - I don't plan on doing many instances on the way up, but are there some items I should really try and get along the way? What level and what instance do they come from?

#3 - If anyone is from the same battle group as Anub'Arak, is the Horde winning more then loosing?

1) Any level ending in a 9!
2) Do the Sunken Temple for the insta-summon VW trinket. I can't think of another that you HAVE to do, but level Tailoring and Enchanting all the way. That way you can kit yourself out in the best gear and make a lot of money from DE mats to buy what you're lacking.
3) Horde are getting murdered when I PvP - no idea about yours, sorry.

1. Seconded with any level ending in 9, but also do 59 as well as 60, 60 because you'll be the highest level in Alterac Valley =].

2. It depends on your level, and how long you plan on staying around that level. So busting your *** for some awesome thing from wailing caverns when you're going to outgrow it quickly probably isn't a good idea. Same for the other levels, it just depends on how fast you level, in my opinion.

3. Don't know about your battlegroup, I'm in Reckoning and we do good at lower levels from what I've heard, but not so well higher up. I'd get on trade and ask around. Good luck!!

Don't go orc go undead. And again, only pvp at lvls ending with a 9. Unless there are twinks on your server, then pvp only after 19 or 29.

One more thing... Frozen Shadoweave gear and such is bind on pick up? That means that unless I am a tailor I will never have them?

yup, gotta make your own, and it requires shadoweave tailoring to wear. I beleive if you make it, then drop tailoring, you can no longer wear it.

You won't get *anything* from the piece of armor if you aren't a shadoweave tailor. When my mage was done making his FSW set, he wanted to start making his Spellfire set. As soon as I trained spellfire, it was if I was wearing dilapidated cloth instead of FSW. It turned RED on my paper doll and I got none of the bonuses from it (no +stam, +int, +spell damage... anything).

Primal Mooncloth, Spellfire, Frozen Shadoweave require specialized into tailoring for, but you only need 350 tailoring to use Spellstrike/Battlecast/Whitemend,

Hope this clears it up.

oh and for Horde Undead for PvP and Orc for PvE as warlock, undead for fear/charm resist/dispel, Orc for increased pet damage.

Just don't PvP at 19 and 29, as a cloth caster, you will be focused on by all of the twink rogues. The 39 bracket is ok, but locks really start to shine in the 40's and above.

I just had a baby (rather my wife did) so anytime I log onto WOW I usually have to play with one hand (b/c I'm holding my son in the other). I was 2nd on the damage charts in my last AB while playing with one hand and clicking around with my mouse. I'm telling you this not because I am THAT good to get 2nd while playing with one hand, it is because my alliance is THAT bad to have been beaten on the damage charts by a semi-geared one handed lock.

Oh and pick undead, they are just cool to look at, look cool while casting, and have good PvP racials.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I've just made it to the Barrens last night so things are starting to move along nicely. My gear is craptacular and yet I still seem to be on cruise control, really enjoying Warlock so far.

I'll take that advice and wait until 39/49 to start my PvP mojo.

I like my avatars how I like my woman; with some meat on their bones. In addition to appearance I wanted the extra HP, for what little that is probably worth in the end.
