So my guild currently has a two kara groups with farm status and we are getting ready to move onto to 25 mans. I've had really bad luck with rolls on tank gear and am geared mostly from badge rewards. What are the benchmark stats to start off tanking gruul's and SSC? I'm currently the MT for the second kara group and can stand up to prince and nightbane without much problem. I'm sitting at around 15.5hp 28.7 armor and 26 dodge self buffed. Any advice or telling me your stats when you started tanking 25-mans will be great!!!
EDIT: Forgot I obtained some new gear last night, I have 15.5hp 29111armor and 28% dodge.

Gruul and Mag are the entry-level 25 mans, you want to be in pretty much all T4 for SSC (and forget MTing Hydross, we're stuck with green "of Frost/Nature Protection" gear while pallies and warriors get epic plate resist gear). Your stats sound good for HKM/Gruul, I think my armor and dodge was a little higher, my health a little lower. But I started out as kitty DPS/back-up off tank, since my kitty gear was better than the other Feral and his tanking gear was better.
Anyway, link your armory and maybe we can point to some specific pieces you can get for upgrades, or a change of gems/enchants.

I know that I want to replace the violet trinket with the new one in Heroic Mag T. but I don't really know what to do with the helm and shoulders. I have no luck when it comes to getting t4 tokens, and I have the points to buy either the s2 shoulders or the s3 helm and just skip the t4 token for one of those slots.

I would recommend, that u get the S3-chest, its an awesome tanking piece and will last till T5-chest easily.
Also i would replace the violet badge with Moroes Pocket Watch or, if you have the money, for the Darkmoon Furie-Set trinket. One of the best bear-trinkets out there.
I would also replace the legs with the ones from heroic-manatombs.
They give more AP for aggro and more mitigation cause of the Agi on them.
You have enough def to be uncrittable and 77 extra resilence. So you can loose some of def and still have it capped.

ugh, don't get me started on the pocket watch. It finally dropped last night, so they told me and the other tank to roll on it... the other tank rolled a 100. sigh. I was thinking that the new badge chest would be pretty sweet, but I'll look into the s3, thanks!
