problem is that i wanna socket my new head with +12 Agility & 3% Increased Critical Damage, just to balance my stats but im lacking blue gems in armor
so question is... better to change some armor like neck and wrist and stack it with some blue/green gems or socket head with some other gems.

remember that you can put a purple agi/stam gem into a red socket, and it'll count as a blue gem as well as a red. Link your armory, and I'm sure that someone can give a suggestion as to what to change.

You've got the sockets to 'activate' the Meta, no problem. Just ignore your socket bonuses when they are the least helpful and socket purple, green, or orange gems to make them do double duty for you. I used 2x Jagged Talasite for my own Meta activators, as I already had plenty of red gems socketed. Shifting Nightseye is a better gem in a vacuum, but as a purple gem it couldn't help me meet my '2 yellow' requirement.

You must have 2 of each color, but the hybrid gems count as both of their colors. So for me, 2 Jagged Talasite count as both 2 yellow and 2 blue gems, and my other gems are all red.

Upgrade your Browser, and experience the internet again. 9 times out of 10, the reason the armory just doesn't work for people, is that your browser doesn't support the programming language that Armory was written in (AJAX). Plus, every time a user switches to Firefox, an angel gets its wings, and a web developer's migraine (otherwise known as Internet Explorer) gets a little less severe.

So on Monday night, I got the Demon Stalker Greathelm and I placed Enigmatic Skyfire Diamond in the meta slot, but I am unsure if adding Inscribed Ornate Topaz (orange +10ap, +5 crit) to meet the socket bonus will activate the meta or does it need to be Bright Living Ruby (red +16ap)?
Orange, Purple, and Green Gems, count as 1 of each color. Ready for this? Blue + yellow make green, green gems count as... blue and yellow. Red and yellow make orange,so orange gems count as.... red and yellow. Blue and red make purple, purple gems count as... you guessed it red and blue.
So to answer your question, count your red, orange and purple gems that number is going to be your red gems
Count your yellow, orange, and green gems, that number is your yellow gems. if you have at least 2 more red then yellow, use the orange, if not use red.
