BGs at 4x and 5xFollow

After reading another thread (see reference here I had a couple of my own questions about the 4x and 5x BGs. Hopefully these questions aren't already covered somewhere I should have seen....

Currently, my Lock is at 49 and about ready-ish to sit there for the next 4-6 holiday weekends. Right now he's affliction but I was curious if destruction would be better at this level. No resil or heavy resist gear to worry about and all...

Also: I had originally planned on grabbing 2 of the level 60 pvp pieces to ease the major honor grind at 69. But I'm not sure if that's viable and, well, I'm not entirely clear on what pvp gear a full affliction lock should be focused on pre-70. Think I've got a pve plan that seems ok, but not for BGs.

Any help appreciated and sorry if this info it glaring at me in an obvious place.

Honestly, I wouldn't get any of the lvl 60 pvp bg rewards stuff.
I got the shoulders on my warlock and while they were nice and weren't replaced for a very, very long time, that was another, I think 10k honor or so I had to grind out when I hit 70, because I "wasted" it on a lvl 60 bg thing.

Plus, not sure if you knew or not, but you can get the season 1 arena set with your honor, and wouldn't you rather save your honor to get that when you hit 70?

I was thinking of grinding out a couple of 60 pieces so that the serious grind at 69 (for 70 season1 gear) would be a wee bit easier. Doing just 2 pieces at 60 (which are decent for pve as well it seems) is just a means to the end: s1 (or s2 gear when available for honor).

Right now I'm really unimpressed by the honor per hour at 49 but it does, so far, seem less populated by twinks. Not too hard to score some HKs in this bracket and I'm not getting killed quite as much as 29. But I honestly don't know if I love AB enough to camp out in this bracket.

Thanks for the reply!
