I`m curious about strength, I read the sticky on it but I`m not sure about something, does strength give you weapon damage and attack power? or just attack power?

Each additional point of strength boosts your melee attack power, which is what then causes your total melee damage to increase. So indirectly, strength gives you damage, via attack power.

The only things that will directly change a weapon's damage are the +dmg enchantments and sharpening stones/weightstones.
