is the priest really the best healerFollow

honestly i been lookin around at healers i have a 70 shammy 40/0/21 and just that alone lets me heal incredibly good not enough for anything main mind u but if i was set up for it and had the gear im sure i could main heal as a resto shammy plus a shiled and heavier armour, next the pally looks like they can heal great specially with the blessings of light and the every other holy light spell at a 2 sec cast thru that talent and they wear plate, lookin at the druid they get leahter and a bunch of great hot spells and a great main heal but at a 3 sec cast. so my simple question from the experienced healers out there is a priest really the best healer simple as that. thx fer the help in my question

In my opinion, there are three types of healers.

There is the hot healer, the healer that can put on 3 or more hots on a single target, can keep hots on multiple people, and are a great utility type healer because their large spells aren't the greatest. These would be druids.

There is the aoe healer. This healer has the single best aoe heal of all time. They also have spells that can let their entire party regain health and mana. These are Shammies.

Then there is the great single target healer. This healer has almost never runs out of mana if they only have to heal one person. Short efficient spells that when they crit return more mana. This would be the Pally.

The priest is a combination of all three of these. They have hots, but they aren't as good as the druids. They have aoe healers, but not as good as the Shaman. They are great single target healers, but not as great as a paladin. But roll up all those in one package and you have a healer that can do just about any job asked of them.

O'rly? Priests aren't the best healers. There is no best healer. Priests have the most utility. Having at least one of each type of heal. Making them extremely good for bouncing around in raids.

If a priest is going to try to compete with me in raid heals... he just isn't going to top me in heals. I have chain heal which is better than the priest AoE heal. Druid HoTs are better than the priests. Pally heals are better than priest single target heals. However, what is better than if your paladin dies and you need someone to spam heal the tank? You need priests, they're amazingly versitile.
