I love to tank as a bear and I was wanting a lil help choosing a head item.
Here is my armory, I think I have most of my tank gear on.

I have like 12.5K health and almost 23K armor in Bear Form.

I was wondering what would be better for me as a tank?
Stylin' Purple Hat

or
Cobrascale Hood

I appreciate any help I may get, and whatever other pointers/criticism.

I started off with the Stylin' Purple Hat, just because it was so easy to get. Later I picked up the S1 head peice and it is wonderful! You lose some dodge but pick up stam and armor which is quite nice. Now I'm working on my veng head peice because I've had horrible luck on prince drops. I'm MT in my kara group and do just fine with the s1 in there.

I was really trying to avoid BG's. I can only stand to do a few a night at best. After that I get bored.

Well if you want to be a good tank you need to suck it up. and im talking for me and you. i have a 70 warlock and 70 hunter. yes my warlock has almost full epics. but i need to suck it up because in about 1 week i could replace 3 of the 4 blues i have. so im not being mean but ***** the blue hat and get full S1 gear because in blues your not gonna get very far before the expansion comes out. spend 1 week of pvping and you will have full S1 or close.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Korgath&n=Hanoa this is my main. my warlock
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Korgath&n=Icymist this is my hunter. he is my alt. kinda crappy gear but decent enough for me. if u want to talk to me. 4/1/08 right now my computer is broken but i am alliance on korgath. ofcoarse i will most likely be on my main. if im not here are other possible characters

hanoa - warlock 70
icymist - hunter 70
shorttwink - 19 twink rogue
Naturedude - 26 druid for now. i might start lvlen him
if non of these might wana check a diff server. trollbane. i have a 46 shaman named numbauno. good luck. gratz on druid im jealous.

You can be a good bear tank without ever getting a single piece of PvP gear. The purple hat has enough Stam and Agi to last until you replace it with either your T4 or Cowl of Beastly Rage. Best or 2nd best in slot for Back, Belt, Boots, and Wrist is Badge gear. T4 gloves drop off Curator, but until then you have Verdant gloves. The only slot that doesn't have a good PvE item is your shoulders. The rouge D3 piece, Shoulderpads of Assassination, is 'okay' at best. If you can only stand a little PvP, the first item I'd get would be the Feral S1 shoulders. There's nothing to replace them with in 5 or 10-man content.

As you progress further on in the game I would advise to do some arena, as defence is scarce and far between. The more tier gear you get, the more defence you will be lacking, and some vengefull pieces mixed in is a very good way to make up for the missing defence.

Thanks for the replies, I've tanked almost every Outlands instance. Sometimes it seems like the healer has a hard time healing me, but I almost always get props for a good job. I was just looking to better myself and make the healers jobs a little less stressful. I still need to do Arcatraz for my Verdant Gloves - http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=30943;source=live

I spose I can BG for a decent shoulder slot item. The blue one was a very easy and cheap stepping stone.

Anyways thanks for the info/help guys.
