What would you pick with a PvP mutilate spec?Follow
Mutilator costs half the points, so unless you're an arena ***** at 2.5 k rating the choice is pretty obvious.
Ignoring that silly little fact :P
If you had the points, and you were all capped and everything, which one would you use?

Doesn't matter, they're identical.
I might take Shanker/Shanker to be able to weapon swap and shiv WP on, but that's a waste of energy at 38 energy per shiv.
Other than that, there's no reason to go Shanker/Shanker other than to prove you're a baller with ******** of points.

Isn't mutilate two slow daggers with high dmg? if so shanker+mutilator would be the most obvious choice wouldn't it?
Zom changed his spec, so the items he has on atm are not what were on when I linked but anyhow.
The [wowitem=33754]Shanker[/wowitem] and the [wowitem=33801]mutilator[/wowitem] both have the same dps and speed, hence same average damage.
The only reason I can think of for picking the Shanker, is because teh mutilator has a wider range, and a chance to get less damage, whereas the Shanker gives less of a flow.

my friend went 2x whatever the slow ones are. mutilators i guess? i dunno. he wanted max mut dps.
As I linked they are both the same speed, and as Theo suggested, the difference is very slight.
So, if they are the same, then it must be the Shanker, since the mutilator is Offhand.
But I would assume he would use shanker+mutilator if he didn't have points to waste.

Yeah, actually, that's a really good point. Shanker would be much more consistent in terms of Muts.
If I had points to burn, I'd definitely take the Shanker over the Mutilator.

but there are lots of people here thinking the same question as this thread's author. I know I can't do well in arenas with my crapy pve gear and no real pvp experience... Just trying to think what would I do
Double Shanker...hopefully I'll have at least one within the next 2 weeks. :)
