Ok so im running heroic SV with another lock and hes pulling agro off the tank like crazy but refusing salv. The reason he refused it was because he said he could compensate by using soulshatter. Then he start popping it before fights. I asked him why because I thought that it lowered your current threat by 50% but he said that it lowers your threat output on the mob by 50%. I was just wondering which one it was.

it's current threat, not threat output. call him an idiot and then /slap him. at the start of the fight you have 0 threat, SS then will leave you still at 0 threat. SS when you have 50k threat and you go to 25k. basically it's best to be used once you hit 120-125% the MTs threat (you can see this if you use omen/ktm mod) so as to gain the biggest advantage of the threat dump. also tell him he's an idiot for not taking salvation. heck i refuse groups if we don't have a paladin because i NEED salvation if i want to deal any viable damage.

Yeah I always wonder about caster DPS that refuses Salv. (except on certain no aggro table boss fights and the like, of course)

Either they look at it like it's some sort of penalty to them. Like it's the "kiddie table" of blessings or they honetsly think that having more MP5 is really going to boost their damage.

I almost wish they would change the tooltip on the player to something like "Allows you to put out 30% more damage. Just don't be a tool about it."

Yeah my omen has been acting weird ever since the patch. They have been updating the new releases like crazy and I never seem to have the same versions as others when i PuG.
