Probably Boneheaded Macro Prob/QuestionFollow

With the patch I had to wipe my entire client and reinstall from scratch. I saved my Addons, but not my macros. So I'm rebuilding them. Sad panda.

It's really pissing me off that I can't figure out how to shift from Dire Bear Form or Cat Form directly back into the same form to get the rage or energy from Furor. I swear it seems like something changed with the patch, because I thought it was really easy before.

At it's simplest, shouln't "/cast Cat Form" (when you're in cat form) do the trick?
Or a fancy one that shifts you back into whichever of the two forms you're in:
/cast [stance:1] Dire Bear Form [stance:3] Cat Form

Even if I'm in Dire Bear Form and I manually enter "/cast Dire Bear Form", it just pops me OUT of bear form back into caster form. That seems wrong.

Has something changed? Can somebody please point out what I'm doing wrong or link me their powershift-back-to-the-same-form macro please? : (

--------------------------------------
Edit: It kinda seems like the need to cast /cancelform is back again, at least in this case, because I got it to work like this:

/cancelform
/cast Cat Form

Please just disregard this post if I was just being retarded, or chime in if something has changed or reverted with how macros' work.

The powershift macro i use for all forms:

/cast [stance:1] !Dire Bear Form
/cast [stance:2] !Aquatic Form
/cast [stance:3] !Cat Form
/cast [stance:4] !Travel Form

EDIT: Correted the macro based on responses further down

Shouldn't that be what you were aiming for, but following up with "/cast bearform" again after? I'm no macro expert but wouldn't it work?

No, the trick is that you wan't to get out of and into the form with just one click and less then a second in caster form. That way you free yourself of any movement impairing effects and you get the free energy/rage from furor talent

That's the general idea of what I was trying, but doesn't work verbatim.
I assume you wrote it from memory, not copied/pasted from in-game right?
Are you sure it's not this? Because this did work for me.

/cast [stance:1] !Dire Bear Form; [stance:2] !Aquatic Form; [Stance:3] !Cat Form; [stance:4] !Travel Form

Also, is the ! something newly necessary? What's it do? I don't remember using it for my powershift macro before the patch.

/guilty :D

99% of my posts are typed while bored at work, so I don't have access to the game itself. It seems i did make a mistake with Dire Bear Form, also I may have missed which form corresponds to which stance number.

Then "!" in front of the ability is used so you can't press it during a global cooldown (that or it doesn't execute until the global cooldown is over). I use that because otherwise a global cooldown would cause me to end in casterform, because the unshift can be done during global cooldown, but the shift back into form can't.
