Draenei - Heroic Presence affects pets. Their Gift of the Naaru ability also gives hunters a heal over time.

Dwarf - Gun Specialization increases critically hit with guns by 1%. Also has Stoneform to counter various types of debuffs, such as Crippling Poison.

Night elf - Shadowmeld enables the Hunter to take advantage of unsuspecting enemies in PvP as well as mobs in PvE, and Quickness can stack upon Aspect of the Monkey to increase dodge further.

I was wondering which racials would fair out the best in PvP... I can't figure out if Stoneform is more beneficial for getting off a Rogue's poisons or Shadowmeld for a possible ambush on another player. They both seem pretty useful. But then again NEs get more dodge...

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I'd go with NElfs, though I'm not a huge pvper. My roommate's pally loves stoneform fwiw, but if you're talking about arenas then the dwarf's +crit is going to be pretty well wasted in a high res situation.

Not much advice to give you here. It really depends upon your playstyle.

Most healing talents only serve you well in early PvP, later on when your main healer is down and you have 2-3 people beating on you, it's mostly useless. If you're winning, then it's really not necessary most of the time.

Crits don't do much in PvP against well geared PvP toons. Resillience kills crits. Against lesser geared PvPers, it's just as deadly and never look a 1% gift horse in the mouth. Stoneform works well to remove poisons and such but makes you move so slow that your hunter is a sitting duck if they choose to pick on you. Otherwise, it's a nice ability.

Shadowmeld is only useful on encounter start. With a cat pet, you can both go invisible after you get to your sniping area. If the other team can see you go there though, it's moot. I use it, it works most of the time, but limited effect. It really gives me time to pick out their healer and then send pet and start up aimed. You come visible and usually aimed fires and then you go for max dps. Quickness helps more, went toe to toe with a warrior once and blocked/dodged everything he threw at me, while I raptored and wingclipped him. Got away and got on the target I was supposed to be on. I was lucky but it worked. Lost the fight anyway so didn't matter.

So they all have their abilities, choose based on your playstyle, what you think you can play best to.

If you plan on doing a lot of Arena, I'd go for stoneform, but if youre gonna do a lot of bg's i'd go for shadowmeld. An undead rogue doesnt know what is happening to him if you jump out of the shadows and hit him with aimed shot :D

Outside of undead, I never bothered which race to pick. Neither should you. Your choice will be an esthetic (spelling?) one (for simplicity I took the male form):

- want to be a gayish-running, flappy-eared, glowy-eyed hunter? Pick night-elf.
- want to be a tentacled, square-shaped-so-running-cube, no-need-in-hiding hunter? Pick draenei.
- want to be a short-legged, long-bearded, grumpy-looking hunter? Pick a dwarf.

Personally I played an Orc, made him green, named him Hulck, got myself a short purplish pants, stayed naked for the other armor slots and ran around calling out: "Hulck bash, Hulck smash"! After which I forgot to use my fists and just shot him with my .98 caliber shot gun. And, naturally, Hulck uses either no pet or the pink tallstrider one to match the green...
