Duel Wield with armsFollow

#1 Mar 28 2008 at 2:59 PM Rating: Decent
...is this viable? I am lvl 39 and I have a ravager. I also have the brass knuckles from Graveyard SM and another decent quest drop axe. I notice that as a full arms spec (-5 in fury crit) I still do much better DPS when I dual wield. I was wondering if a 41/20/0 build (in order to get dual wield spec)would work well? Maybe fury would be better...but I don't like it for some reason.

Question: Am I severly gimping my DPS later on? Is mortal strike worth it while dual wielding?

Please tell me if I'm an idiot or not....thanks!

Refer to the 15 other posts about how bad this build is.

Level with any build you want, when you hit 70 is when you should change.

The "best" dual wield build is a 17/44/0.

Yes you will be gimping yourself.
No mortal strike is not worth it, its for 2H PvP.
No it is not viable.

I like 17/44/0 for everything :O And most war's will agree that spec'ing MS with dual wield is similar to paris hilton saying "that's hot" every 10 seconds.

you must elaborate.

you don't dual wield with mortal strike because mortal strike is dependent on weapon damage. compare weapon damage between gladiator's bonegrinder and dragonmaw.
mortal strike outputs weapon damage + additional damage. if you hit MS every 6 seconds with the first weapon, you get an average 400 weapon damage. if you hit MS every 6 seconds with the second weapon, you get an average 250 weapon damage.

in contrast to that, bloodthirst scales based on attack power, which scales so much better with gear compared to weapon damage that it's ridiculous.

this is only true if you have the gear to support it, if u dont have enough crit to keep up flurry, or enough hit rating with precision then its prertty lame.

you would be better off going down to a wep spec in arms and rest in fury

Never ever spec Endless Rage, or Imp. MS for that matter. Fury would be better.

You're severely gimping your DPS period. MS is not worth it while DW:ing

You're not an idiot, you just don't know a lot of game mechanics. That's pretty common, so no need to worry.

Actually, they only difference between those builds in the fury tree is that you're not getting Imp. Berserker Stance and Rampage, both of which are better than weapon spec.

Even getting axe spec to keep flurry up doesn't justify it enough.
