Alright, yes I did spec into that, my spec along with my gear can be found here.

So I got to fool around with this spec in various Arena matches, BGs, and World PvP situations. My initial response: completely underwhelmed. After respeccing, the only time I found the talent actually worked to a decent amount was when I was Hamstrung by a Warrior, but he quickly reapplied the snare. I faced opponents ranging from Hunters to other Shaman and the talent doesn't really yield noticeable results. More often than not, the snare can be reapplied before it wears off even under the new talent, or they can just put us in a different snare then reapply the old one. I'm not impressed, the only reason I am still slightly mobile in 2s is because of my Holy Paladin partner, but even that is negated by the overwhelming presence of Druids in the 2v2 bracket.

Overall, I'm going to give this talent a 3. All it does is leave a bad taste in my mouth of what it could have been and how it could have helped us, but it really does not do much in the big scheme of things. Now, if we are never to be given a way to fully remove movement impairing effects, then I'd be interested to see how effective this would be if it were to act like the PvP trinket, but only cutting the durations in half instead of fully removing them.

Edit: Please don't make any comments about my partner's current spec, he respecs Holy for Arenas and goes Prot for the occasional instance.

It was so obviously a bone-throw from the moment it was conceived. The buff itself has no real effect on the game, but 50% is a big-sounding number in WoW terms so it looks impressive if you have no understanding of game mechanics, which the o-board whiners frequently dont.

Now, 50% resistance to snares would have been a nice buff... snares are spammable so I dont see the problem balance-wise, just a little more difficult to kite Shamans reliably.

Toughness is, and always has been, a waste of five points. Now it's also a waste of 'buff points', the imaginary currency that Blizzard seem to allot to certain classes (Mages are drowing in it right now).

What a fucking waste.

Yes, I realized how much of a waste it was from the start, I just wanted to make a post for all the nay-sayers that thought it was a buff.
