Pickpocketing in 2.4Follow

So after 2.4 I've been spending time grinding for cash in Quel'danas because of the quick respawn rate of mobs. Anyway, I've pickpocketed in two consecutive days a blue gem. One was a Dawnstone, the other the whatever of Elune. Now I've been pickpocketing mobs for as long as I remember, was there a change now for pickpocket loot table?

Could just be that they're only available in QD, but I think I remember getting a blue gem from pickpocketing before.

Then again, I get tons of blue gems from mining too, so I could just be talking out of my ***. Smiley: grin

Either way, that's awesome; time to bring back my PP/CS macro.

I have this macro set up for that:

/cast Pick Pocket
/stopcasting
/cast Cheap Shot

I find a lot of the time that I don't actually get the loot, as combat starts before the auto-loot is finished.

Anyone have this problem? or better yet a solution? (without just pickpocketing manually)

Pickpocket doesn't incur a GCD.

I used to have this problem, basically its a latency issue

I live in australia so have inferior latency to many US players, my latency hovered around 600-700 which was very playable, but majority of time using exactly that macro, i would get the coins from the pp but not the loot, and if i glanced something worthwhile i would often vanish and pp manually then do another opener

I started using a tunneling service (lowerping.com) and my latency is now consistently around 250, and now i pretty much always (99%) of time get the loot when i PP.

a warning about tunneling services, they are not approved by blizz, some tunneling services are negotiating with blizz to have their services allowable in the TOC, but there is some risk involved, because when using the tunnel you appear from a different i.p.

but only people i know of that have been banned were banned for doing things other than the tunnelling.

Actually, in getting home and looking at my own macro, the macro you posted is exactly what I use.

It's probably a latency issue; mine works 99% of the time (I usually have 90ms pings).

i found even when lagging auto loot will put stuff into my bags even if i don't see the PP finish, it's a nice surprise finding an extra lockbox or potion sitting in your bags.

Does that thing require auto-loot enabled in options?

Yes

There is a macro on Wowwiki which will turn auto loot on before the PP and then off after the PP. I tried it for a while but the thing never turned off my auto loot properly. I personally don't care for auto-loot (yeah yeah I'm crazy), but I had to adjust on my rogue.

I'd go crazy w/o auto-loot. On the same vein, what's the best item you all have received from PP? I think if I am remembering correctly I got a lock box that had a bow of searing arrows in it...not 100% but I think it came from the pirate mobs in tanaris.

I've had the worst luck when it comes to PP I think. At least when it comes to items. I never seem to get anything really good. Maybe 1-2 non-descript greens. I must have pulled out 200 gnome effigies though. Apparently all the humanoid mobs hate gnomes.

I do get a constant supply of potions from PP. Which makes me very happy.

Me too, and I'm in the U.S. I now only vanish if I see there was a health pot, as I always seem to be low or out. One thing I've started doing, is sapping more often, as this ALWAYS grabs everything (I put Sap before PP for this one, so if the PP is resisted, the mob is already sapped and I don't have to fight that mob right away).
