Does vial of the sunwell affect drain life?Follow

Vial of the sunwell is the new trinket from the heroic that gives holy energy from casting healing spells.

I highly doubt it, as drain life is a leech effect, not a healing effect. Damage must be done in order to get any healing out of it. Damage is the main goal, healing is a benefit. Drain life also gets no buff from healing gear.

However I could see this trinket being nice for a lock as it might benefit from health funnel. Have your VW or felguard tanking and you keep having to heal him and the effect should stack up.

Either way, a lock should never roll on this unless the healer already has it.

the only spell we have that counts as a 'heal' is health funnel. everything else is a leach, and so won't affect the trinket.

I thought Blizzard changed leeches like drain life and siphon life to be counted as healing for spell and effect purposes. Mortal strike affecting them for example.

nope. they changed it the other way. MS affects leach affects as well
