The primo fire build is 2/48/11...what's the 2 points in? Arcane focus for the reduction in miss chance of polymorph, or arcane subtlety for the reduction in AoE threat from arcane explosion?
Arcane Subtlety. Arcane Focus can be compensated with via Spell Hit. Threat reduction cannot, especially a 40% reduction.
I was thinking though...would I really be using arcane explosion as a deep fire spec (instead of things like flamestrike)? And the spell hit I will be getting will be for 13% not the full 16% (since I'll have the frost talent that I always call a different one than it is but y'all know what I mean). With that in mind, gearing for the spell hit for my fire would give polymorph an extra 3% miss...while gearing with the hit for polymorph would make the talent a lot less useful.
there are AoE fights in almost all of the instances starting with Kara and except gruuls/mag all of them after that, 40% threat reduction is crucial for these fights. flamestrike doesn't have the same dps that AE spam does. even with 3% chance to resist a polymorph, it is easy to spam a second time.

This becomes especially apparent when you hit Hyjal. Though I do like Flamestrike/Blizzard rotations for when I have to be at range, AE spam(with Blastwave and Dragon's Breath thrown in when they're up) is certainly higher DPS as Anobix as said.
