Tuesday, the day of the patch, I was running around STV doing quests and one of them had me getting reeds from the Nagas there. I would stealth up behind them, sap them and then pick their pockets. I noticed, what seemed like a fair number of times, that sometimes I would go to pick the pockets of the mob and I would get a message along the lines of "pick pocket has been completely resisted" and I would drop out of stealth. This wasn't limited to the Nagas. It happened on various other humanoids through out the day. I can't say I remember seeing that message and completely dropping out of stealth for a failed pick pocket seemed new to me as well.

It's possible that it's always said that and I am only now noticing it because of the new combat log. Wednesday I was picking pockets left and right and don't think it happened once.

Unrelated but how often have you found that vanish didn't remove you from combat? Tuesday I did Van Cleef and killed him and some of his guards but I figured I would just vanish and split mid fight but when I vanished they still kept hitting me. I ended up jumping into the water and thought I would wait until they lost agro on me but I forgot that in instances the mobs don't just give up and I ended up with every mob on the boat coming after me. lol I

have had a dot on me before that made vanish wear off immediately but there was nothing on me when I was doing VC.

Yeah pickpocket has always had the potential to be resisted, which would drop you from stealth. I'm not sure why it never happened to you before (or so infrequently that you hadn't noticed). It's a fairly low % of the time, I'd guess around 10% or under, and is less likely the more your level exceeds the lvl of the mob in question, I believe.

One thing to try, if you don't already have it, is macro your sap and pickpocket together, with sap coming first, that way if the PP gets resisted, the mob is already sapped and you don't have to fight him for 25 seconds or whatever (you'll be in combat with the sappee at this point). If there are nearby mobs that aggro, at least you have bought some time before having to fight that one additional mob.

As far as vanish not working as you described, I'm pretty inexperienced with instances, but I think some bosses and their supporting cast see through the vanish as intended. The first time I have noticed this was in Shadow Labs, where I experienced a few group wipes, tried to vanish only to discover that as soon as the last party member was dead, they were all coming after my stealthed butt. A few times I was able to sprint> prep > sprint to the instance portal just fast enough to get out. The other times......not so lucky.

It's possible that it has happened to me before but must have been a very small number of times. It could have just been that it happened to me so many times in the course of the day that it stood out. Also now seeing that big message saying it was completely resisted or something like that makes it stand out even more.

I hadn't thought about that. That does make some sense.

Thanks!
