+crit affects...Follow

...Felguard?

Can't find the answer anywhere.

I'm getting every piece of BG PvP gear I can but don't know whether to go for the Dread or Fel.

As I understand it, Fel has more crit, but if this doesn't affect my Felguard, then I'm going wholly Dread. If it DOES affect the big man, then I'm thinking a combination would be best.

Suggestions?

EDIT: Fel is + spell crit innit...idiot!! So then...full Dread would be better for a demo 'lock, yes?

Naw.

If you are going to PVE but are using S1 as a quickstep for gear, then get 5/5 Felweave for the massive Crit bonuses.

If you are going to PVP primarily, then get 3/5 Felweave and 2/5 Dreadweave for the extra Resilience Bonus. Crit is one of the best things to stack for someone interested in both PVP and PVE, because it doesn't matter what you're fighting... SpellCrit is going to make you do more damage.

Interesting. All that Sta and Int makes me drool but you're right. It is about time I went for crit and hit.

Swap out the Helmet and Shoulder, you'll lose the minimum amount of crit and be gaining 6 stam. You can compare the sets easily here.

currently pets scale poorly. only stam, int and +dmg scale with them. EVENTUALLY blizzard will change it so everything effects them... but until then, stick to the high stats and high damage stuff.

I figured as much. Cheers, chaps.

So if I go Fel for robe, pants and gloves with Dread head and shoulders (washes the dandruff right out) that would appear to be the best combo, si?

if you have alternate gear and are not using PvP gear as your foundation then go for the non-crit set, I made the mistake of purchasing my S3 helm still 0/21/40 spec'd so of course I didn't notice that my pvp sl/sl build can't crit.

Well, this is the thing. I'm not currently ever going to make it past doing the odd Heroic.

So the best gear I have is the FSW set, which I love. But doing a lot of BGs and racking up the HP has made me look at the rewards. As far as I can tell, and correct me if I'm wrong...they're just way better than FSW in everything. SO I was thinking of getting the lot and using it for PvE AND PvP.

Am I wrong?

I was quite sure of that too, but I ended up raiding black temple ^^
We disbanded the day before the patch though, so no Illidan for me >.<

In a guild of 6, I'm pretty damn sure! Unless I get a PuG raid. I've been offered it now and then for Kara.

If you have the FSW, your set for raiding. I don't see how you can say the S1 gear is better in every stat. It IS better in every PvP stat, but the FSW gives way more +Shadow Damage, at the loss of resilience ans Sta. Resilience is about useless in a raid, and while Sta is helpful, -Spell Dam is muchmuch better. Not to mention all the +Hit Socket Bonuses. +Hit is the most imporatant stat for a raider, until you get to the cap anyway.

If your not gonna raid, then stick with the PvP gear I guess, but hag on to you FSW, if you raid it'll last you until T5/6.

Lath, if I was gonna raid, I'd be FSW all the way. But for general PvE and PvP, I think I have to go for it. +shadow damage be damned! :)

I have 4/5 T4 gear and still use my FSW. When you get used to seeing the
higher damage and things dying faster you'll switch back to it. My guess
is you'll see anywhere from 100 to 150 or possibly more shadow damage in
FSW than your S1 gear. I also have 5/5 S1 gear and I no longer use it for
any PVE or raiding.

Switch your gear in and out and see which is giving you better damage.
Experiment and have fun.
