Before I rolled my lock I have leveled 2 pallys to 70 one as prot and the other is a ret for PvP. I also have a rogue at 57 and while I let his rested XP build up I thought I would roll a lock because it seams like a fun class and I do not see a lot of them on my server.

Well I started my lock one night after are Kara run and there were 4 other new locks running around the noob zone. I am now up to lvl 21 and getting there has been really easy. But in my leveling I have seen more lock then I have ever seen. Every quest that I do it seams like there is 1 or 2 more locks doing the same quest and I don't see the same ones either. Do people just get board with locks and quit playing them at the low lvls? I don't see that many high lvl locks when I am doing instances.

I really enjoy questing with my lock, I just send in my VW DoT up the mob then send the VW after the next MoB DoT it up and so on. Most of the time I can get 5-7 MoBs before I need to heal my VW up, but I am almost always close to full health and mana with a trail of dead MoBs behind me. Now that I have the consume shadows spell things go even faster because once I am out of combat I can heal my VW faster and resume the killing spree.

sorry for the lengthy post and some rambling I just got a little carried away in my typing.

By casters, I think that bowchicka meant "mages and priests". I don't think she meant "warlocks", or even "casters in general". I've never had an excess number of deaths with warlocks, druids, shamans, or paladins. I become a doornail only about once every 10 levels when leveling a warlock.

I think the reason that players give up on warlocks is a matter of preference in play style, instead of number of deaths. Some people are better suited for ranged spells with a pet rather than in-your-face direct combat - or DoTs instead of Nukes. Those people become warlocks - others try a 'lock and find themselves better suited to play a different class.
