First, some background info. I got my prot pally to 55 a while back and have been running through Shattered Halls hoping to get lucky with a primal nether drop (do instance with my mage, bring in pally just for the last boss). So far, no luck. Now with the patch upon us the first thing I'll be doing is to send one of my rogue's primal nethers to my paladin and make the delicious Tankatronic Goggles a reality. Which brings me to my question: Which metagem should I get?

I'd go with Powerful Earthstorm Diamond. 18 stam is tight, the 5% stun resist is invaluable, though.

With the addition of the new Sunwell stuff there is now also a metagem that gives 12 defense rating and +10% block amount or something like that. Would that be a plausible gem, or is the 18 stam and 5% stun resist still better? D:
I can tell for a fact that Tenacious sucks. Do not take Tenacious.
You should maybe go with Eternal Earthstorm Diamond
I know that whenever I get Illidans helm, or the 2nd tier engi goggles schematic drops for me, I will put that right in. The 2nd tier goggles will be CRAZY on defense rating.
51 from them + 12 from meta + 4 from yellow gem to be able to get the meta + 16 from enchant = sup yo 83 defense rating.
