My problem is that I have no clue what I need to be doing in every fight with the new skills that I have.
What did you do before you specced BM? What abilities did you use?
I honestly can't see much difference in the playstyle if you were doing it 'right'. Other than having to kite your pet less and standing back and shooting some more.
Please be more specific about how you went about killing mobs when you were MM.

I have gone all the way through the BM tree and will be working on the MM tree next. I am just curious as to what "routine" other hunters go through that will maximize that dps my Pet and I can do.
Maximizing your DPS for each pull won't be necessary as BM, even though it was as MM. You'll do more damage as BM than you ever did as MM if you just stand back and keep a steady Arcane and Multi- rotation.
If you're talking about specials pulls where you have to maximize your DPS, like when taking down elite mobs or other, there're some things you can do to make it go smoother.
- If your pet is tanking, send it in with Mend Pet ticking, and use Intimidation once it's done (after that you can reapply Mend Pet, FD and blast away:).
- Pop Bestial Wrath.
- Pop any trinkets available.
- Pop Rapid Fire.
- Make sure to apply DPS helpers such as Serpent Sting, since they get to finish ticking on longer pulls (thus making them worthwhile), when Multi- and Arcane are on CD.
- Using DPS Traps can also be useful, but the CD might neglect you a getaway.
This is all I can think of to 'maximize' your DPS. You won't be needing to do this on regular pulls though. If your pet and you are specced right, that'll take care of any pull with non-elite mobs in it. Even if there's 6 of them.
