any way to just have this stay at the top without having to bump it up there? This is a great post for all the newbie priests, imo.

It's in the sticky guide, Nizdaar decided to link them all in there rather than have 4 stickies in this forum, I'd take it up with him if you have an issue with it :)

It'll be outdated soon enough so I'm happy to let it fall down the page a little, though I'm glad some of you are still finding it useful!

I apologise I didn't mean to come across sounding ungrateful, it's had over 3500 views (counter reset twice) so someone's finding it useful and I'm pleased that was the case, when I first came to these forums I didn't have a clue about what I should be getting gear wise and alot of people - khalane (who's busy wikiing (woo word) stuff now so less active on here) and lsfreak to name two - helped me out. This was my way to say thanks and give something back and also lessen the amount of "gear threads" we'd been getting. Other forums had gear stickies and it was odd this one didn't hence why I chose to do it.

You're more than welcome to bump it if you wish especially as I changed the name of the thread from the one in the sticky guide but I think the amount of newbs coming in for TBC gear now is probably dropping off so I'm happy either way!

Here's to WoTLK and all the new shiny stuff there! Smiley: laugh

Another pre-Kara trinket worth mentioning is the Bangle of Endless Blessings, which drops off Warp Splinter in the Arctraz. The proc off that trinket gives Priests an additional +50% to their inside-5-seconds regen from spirit, which means this item scales better than anything with a flat bonus to spirit or MP5 or even healing. You might still be using this trinket at 80!

The spirit boost from using it is also quite useful. Trigger it whenever you're cancel-casting your way out of the 5-second rule

Thanks a lot, helpful guide! =)

As for my two cents; it's possible to do disc healing as well in Karazhan. I'm doing fine at the moment, and have cleared everything but Netherspite (Though we've never tried him). This is my spec, and I'm at the moment on about 140mp5, 1000 healing, 9K hit points and 9,5K mana. I've achieved this mainly trough grabbing the Season 2 arena set and gemming it with any kind of +mp5 I could find. I use the Serpentcrest Life-staff which drops off the second boss in the steamvaults and a cloak which is obtainable from the first boss in the place. Furthermore I wear a pair of badge bracers and picked up the mighty fine Light-Woven Slippers from the first boss in the Sethekk Halls.

I've since then replaced the leftover slots (necklace, belt and a ring) with Karazhan gear, though make-do items can be found mostly off the quests that lead into Coilfang and Auchindoun. All of this gear is fairly easy to obtain by just doing a bunch of PvP and running a couple of instances. Completing the whole set took me about a month (I retrieved some of the instance gear while still levelling), though with some effort you could probably do it in two weeks and have the choice between PvE or instances at hand.

Thanks emmitsvenson item added Smiley: smile

You had me worried there for a sec Mozared I thought I'd missed all four of your linked items off my list then saw you were linking them for a reason, phew Smiley: nod
I've run with a few disc priests before and they can be very effective so good for you for trying something different, it looks from the wrath notes as they stand at the moment that disc priests are only going to become stronger in their area so hopefully we'll see a few more disc-healers out there too. I think I'd agree with you in part that there are items you'll pick up while levelling which are very useful, I for one had a trinket and several other quested items still equipped when I first entered kara but I hope you forgive me for not including many of them here as there are generally easily obtainable alternatives available at level 70 or close enough that it would make things a little bloated to include them all.

As always thank you for commenting :)

Great guide. Very helpful for me, thanks. One small blip. You have the pvp mooncloth leggings linked where the pvp mace is.

Its obviously debated which is harder but the trinket and staff from MgT heroic are sweet. A circle of healing priest shouldn't have a massive issue getting staff but 3rd boss can be a pain. If you have a nice guild try get 2 kind mages to go with you as well as your MT +random good dps.

Rework edit.

What is the estimated time frame for the rework to be complete? I just dinged 70 last night. :) Does anyone have suggestions on a gearing site/post to view in the meantime?

There's this one:

http://www.wowwiki.com/BC_healing_equipment_(cloth)

But I don't think it's quite upto date and it lists everything from everywhere so it's kinda hard to work out what's what.

Hopefully coco will manage to get his back up though I've not seen him around recently.

There's always one of the sample priest templates on lootrank, you can just uncheck any of boxes for raids you won't be visiting before the expansion or trade skills you don't have.

3rd boss in MgT Hc. With just a week to go this might even be irrelevant but ... The people I've talked to, in game, seem to agree that a palatank is a great asset for this fight ... if he brings his healing gear along. With no aggro table, having him slip into healing gear makes the 3rd boss quite an easy (and fun!) task.

I would assume this would be the same for a Druid tank.
