hi, currently i am a lvl 67 lock, to save time i just went pure leveling. Now i am reaching 70 and omg ***** boring. When i reach 70 my plan is to pure PvP thats the only reason i started this game. My question is: As soon as i hit 70 can i start PvPing and just start buying the Season sets and weapons without a problem? Or would i need to do instances to get some sort of PvP weapon?

Don't waste time doing Regular Instances then.

The best reason for doing regular instances is for helping to get Heroics/Raid keyed by getting the Reputation and quests done, but in all honesty the gear is so far lacking and less reliable than just PVPing.

When you hit 70 I suggest looking at your AH for certain sets of upgrades that will do your Lock nice for the time being. Bringer of Death is totally cliche, but its a very nice upgrade usually from whatever you were using before. Imbued Netherweave (with Robe) makes a good cheap set as well. Round out any pieces that don't have good PVP stats with "Sorcerer" gear, so at least you can survive a bit longer. Remember to secure at LEAST a regular flyer before you start gearing, as not having a flying mount will restrict your ability to enter TK and therefor a good portion of Heroics, Kara, and anything past that.

Even before 70 (although you should just wait) you can start hitting up AV. Alterac is a great BG because even when you lose you can get a good amount of Honor for your time, and do not have to rely on personal victories (which if you're undergeared your not going to get many of.) Basically, help out your teams as much as possible, and play smart using Fears/Snares, IHoT on Groups, and knock out Node cappers with a wand or Searing Pain (or a group of them with IHoT or Seed.)

It will not come overnight, but if you dedicate some time to doing AVs you'll find yourself enough Honor to pick up a set of Gloves. When you hit 20 AV Marks (if you don't have the Honor for gloves yet) start hitting up EoTS for your next piece, Shoulders. Getting this 2-piece will give you the 35 Resilience Bonus that'll help a lot with your BGs.

The order in which you get your next pieces is entirely up to you. If you plan to PVE at all, I suggest getting a weapon (either the Staff or the Blade work, the Blade offering more options with the offhand but the Staff being more worth the Honor cost.) If you plan to PVP primarily, then the staff isn't as much of an upgrade from the Bringer of Death, and you should start replacing your weakest armor pieces. I'd suggest (for PVP) Helm then Chest, Feet, Weapon, Back, Legs (which if you PVE o at all or Tailor you should have better by now) then Rings.

Anywhere along here you can decide to move up from BGs and start a crappy Arena team (you wont win much but you still got a shot at some Arena Points.)

If you plan to PVE more I suggest getting Full Felweave, if you plan to PVP more I suggest getting 2 from each set as the Resilience Bonus is better than the Fear cast redux.

As I said earlier, for general Honor farming I suggest sticking to AVs until you're well geared, and make sure to take advantage of BG weekends!

Just start pvping when you hit 70. The best caster weapons are obtained through pvp. And if your worried about your gear you shouldn't be. Blizzard tries to put people with equivalent gear in the same bg.

If you want to go strictly to pvping doing instances is more than likely a waste of time. Stick to pvping and you will have decent gear in no time.

I agree with Zyxia, start with PVP'ing as soon as you hit 70. You will get the best gear there anyways.

This necklace can be bought from AH (made buy jewelcrafters).
Necklace

There are also some rings that are worth the money also in PvP even though they don't give you any resilience ("the black pearl" comes to my mind).

Season 1 arena gear costs 10k - 15k honor per each item and those items are worth the effort. After season 4 starts, you will get S2 arena gear for the same amount of honor points, but it is uncertain when it will start (my best guess is that it will happen during April).

I also encourage you to make an arena team. Sure you will suck at first, but believe me, you won't be the only ones :)
Even if your rating is lower than 1300 you will get arena points (=better gear) and you will learn a lot.

I have yet to experience this. Usually I'm put in a group with S2 and S3 geared people, fighting against S3 Hordes. Life sucks. Smiley: lol

With 2.4 out, i would highly recommend purchasing the blue pvp gear that was just released. They require at least honored reputation with certain outland factions but can be purchased with gold.

Dreadweave Battlegear

In terms of PVP situations, this gear would be an improvement over the greens/most pve-oriented blues that you get from questing. They are inferior to S1 gear but they at least give you some better survivability in the BG's and arenas.

On a side note, S1 is available to purchase with BG honor points while S2 & S3 are purchased with arena points (albeit S2 at a lower cost). If you have the time and don't mind the overpowered S3-laden farming arena teams that you will encounter then I suggest you do both. You still need BG honor points to purchase the Vindicator's accessories and you can do arena games to start gathering arena points. Now granted you may have a horrible rating at first, but the points are slowly trickling in and you are gaining experience while developing strategy to do better.

That's about right...each piece runs ~12g each.

Give you much needed resilience, above average stamina, and some gem slots for customization. In the meantime, run some BG's for the S1 or the Vindicator's accessory set.

Unfortunately, they are not available from a centralized NPC/vendor (more of a very small inconvenience). You have to travel to a couple of quartermasters to purchase them.

I can't remember all their names but the link below tells you which faction's quartermasters sell which item. Hope that helps.
