Don't waste time doing Regular Instances then.
The best reason for doing regular instances is for helping to get Heroics/Raid keyed by getting the Reputation and quests done, but in all honesty the gear is so far lacking and less reliable than just PVPing.
When you hit 70 I suggest looking at your AH for certain sets of upgrades that will do your Lock nice for the time being. Bringer of Death is totally cliche, but its a very nice upgrade usually from whatever you were using before. Imbued Netherweave (with Robe) makes a good cheap set as well. Round out any pieces that don't have good PVP stats with "Sorcerer" gear, so at least you can survive a bit longer. Remember to secure at LEAST a regular flyer before you start gearing, as not having a flying mount will restrict your ability to enter TK and therefor a good portion of Heroics, Kara, and anything past that.
Even before 70 (although you should just wait) you can start hitting up AV. Alterac is a great BG because even when you lose you can get a good amount of Honor for your time, and do not have to rely on personal victories (which if you're undergeared your not going to get many of.) Basically, help out your teams as much as possible, and play smart using Fears/Snares, IHoT on Groups, and knock out Node cappers with a wand or Searing Pain (or a group of them with IHoT or Seed.)
It will not come overnight, but if you dedicate some time to doing AVs you'll find yourself enough Honor to pick up a set of Gloves. When you hit 20 AV Marks (if you don't have the Honor for gloves yet) start hitting up EoTS for your next piece, Shoulders. Getting this 2-piece will give you the 35 Resilience Bonus that'll help a lot with your BGs.
The order in which you get your next pieces is entirely up to you. If you plan to PVE at all, I suggest getting a weapon (either the Staff or the Blade work, the Blade offering more options with the offhand but the Staff being more worth the Honor cost.) If you plan to PVP primarily, then the staff isn't as much of an upgrade from the Bringer of Death, and you should start replacing your weakest armor pieces. I'd suggest (for PVP) Helm then Chest, Feet, Weapon, Back, Legs (which if you PVE o at all or Tailor you should have better by now) then Rings.
Anywhere along here you can decide to move up from BGs and start a crappy Arena team (you wont win much but you still got a shot at some Arena Points.)
If you plan to PVE more I suggest getting Full Felweave, if you plan to PVP more I suggest getting 2 from each set as the Resilience Bonus is better than the Fear cast redux.
As I said earlier, for general Honor farming I suggest sticking to AVs until you're well geared, and make sure to take advantage of BG weekends!
