Now that I have mostly Kara gear and a good amount of badges to get new gear when 2.4 hits would it be a good time to drop points from anticipation and my be put them in to imp. judgements and PoJ. Or maybe some thing else but to me right now the 5 point in anticipation seam like a waste because without them my def will still be 500.

here is my armory

P.S. before anyone says anything about get rid of the axe and go with a +sdmg sword I use the CFS when main tanking. I only use the axe for OT or questing.

You need to drop Imp JotC and get Imp Judgements, just makes sense in terms of threat generation ability.

PoJ is a PoS for tanking, seriously.

Don't lost anticipation.

There is the Prot pally we use for BT/Hyjal and his build. I'd recommend something akin to that since he is a guy I would say has an almost god like grasp on the class, the stats and where he is taking his character.

Dropping anticipation is not the solution to having too much defense. Pull alot of those defense gems and replace them with pure stamina. It will help you much more than respeccing.

If you see yourself with too much defense, you can

a) drop defense for dodge (in gear)
b) drop defense for stamina (in gems/enchants)

Don't spec out of anticipation though, 20 defense is a lot, and if you don't need it in defense, it can be speant other places like I mentioned.

Also, You'll do better OT or questing with a spelldamage sword with HS and SoR and consecration and all your spells that benefit from spell damage. Turning your 100 melee dps to 150 melee dps isn't doing you as much as turning your 10 spell damage into 200 spell damage considering so much of our damage comes from spells.

The only time I don't use my CFS is fighting those mana wurms in Kara that are immune to spells. Then I throw on my Gorehowl and watch ENORMOUS (compared to my CFS) numbers fly up the screen :D!

Never really thought about the drop in dps from the loss of spell damage. I dont have any problem with threat using the axe plus the axe adds a single pull advantage when fighting none undead or demon mobs. So I think that I will watch my dps meters a little closer with each weapon and see how much a dps is lost.

thx for all the help in making me a better pally tank.

Why do you need to single pull? Your a pally tank! Rush in and kill them until they are dead.

The spelldamage will definitely come into play if you grab more mobs, then your spells are hitting more mobs more often and you get more of a bonus from it. Wheras if you are single pulling mobs you might not notice as much of a difference.

The only time I really pull single mobs is in Kara and in the harder heroics. Where CC is a problem when using AS to pull but after 2.4 that will no longer be an issue and I can us AS all the time.

The only CC that really should ever have been a problem with Avenger's Shield is Sap. Sap requires the mob to be out of combat.

However, with pretty much every other CC (except maybe hunter's traps) it's best to chuck your shield and hit the about-to-be-CC'd mobs anyways, because that way when the CC breaks, rather than running off and beating on your priest/mage/warlock they will run to you.

When I use CC (which can basically be summed up as: pulls with multiple casters) I tell the CCers to cast after I hit everything with my shield, it works out very nicely.
