it takes some doing, but you can do the quest for the trinket called mark of tyranny from UBRS; its still one of the better druid tank trinkets in game, if only because it has a nice 180 armor attached to it.

I am acctually in the process of getting this trinket, I soloed LBRS for my key to UBRS, just waiting for lvl 70 to go try the end boss. Does anyone know if he is soloable at lvl 70 or do I need to find some help?

The dudes in Shadow Labs still do the old Intimidating Shout. Nearby party members are feared, but the tank is incapacitated. When the tank is gouged, blinded or incapacitated like this, the mob does indeed charge off after the next highest threat - a perfect example of this is the Moroes fight - If you have seen one tank get blinded and the other gouged at the same time, then you have probably seen a healer in deep trouble :)

In this particular case which still exists in Shadow Labs, (unlike regular fears now), a lucky taunt can indeed keep the mob on you (Growl does force the target to attack you for 3 secs - check the description of the skill here and on Wowhead). The downside to this though is that if you don't get lucky, you have used your growl and after you regain control of your toon, you can't go and taunt the mob of the healer/DPS - for this reason, I think it much wiser to save the growl for when it is really needed.

It is also a good idea to have the whole party stay close to the mob as if someone is out of range of the fear, they seem to be the ones that get targeted by the mob.

I'd have a hard time believing anyone who claimed to solo him. As a feral druid I managed the fight with two T5 rogues helping me (all three of us 70, although my gear was pretty average at the time) but it was close.

Main thing to remember is that you can Hibernate one of his goons...for some reason they're not immune, although most of the other Dragonkin in UBRS seem to be.

Ah yes, this is good. I was planning on getting the blue cape that drops from Mechanar with the extra armor, but that trinket should push me to around 23k armor. Now I guess I can go after a cape that offers more agility and strength for damage, dodge, and crit. Thanks a bunch.

No, you still want to get the Thoriumweave cloak from Capacitus. The amount of extra threat you get from boosting your DPS stats on your cloak isn't worth what you could be getting in mitigation (armor, aka Thoriumweave Cloak in Mech, Gilded Thorium Cloak in Kara, or Slikk's Cloak of Placation from Badges).

Has anyone seen the trinket from the third boss in Heroic MgT drop yet? Commendation of Kael'thas. As long as the boss you're fighting can't take you from 36%+ to 0 in 1 hit, that's a massive boost to avoidance basicly every time you need it.

As far as I remember, you can't get to the last boss of ubrs without a group. To open one of the doors, you must have a group focus to summon the fire boss. Of course, they may have fixed that.

Just a word of caution - those whelps (Leeroy Jenkins) can still easily wipe a full 10 man group of 70's :)

We though we'd be able to smash them and it would be a bit of fun to "Leeroy" it. Wow - that was a real bad idea :)

Speaking of cloaks and Magister's Terrace in the same sentence, in regular mode Kael'Thas drops a purple cloak that's a big upgrade from the Thoriumweave that that Capacitus ******* supposedly drops.

Cloak of Blade Turning has the same or more armor depending on what source you check, just a few less stamina (31 to 35) but +22 resilience.

Thoriumweave Cloak vs Cloak of Blade Turning

The one from MgT Kael has resil, but a little less armor and a little less stamina.

Yes, you're right...minimum of 3 people no matter how awesome you are. Slipped my mind when I wrote the first post.

Braxxis staff is a good one. The rep for CE isn't too bad...if you run heroic SV..you're looking at 2K+ rep just from killing the bare minimum...then you can fill out the rest with regular SV runs. Heroic SP is also good for rep..plus being an easy heroic to start tanking.

If you're having that much trouble hitting mobs, get some +hit gems, and have a hunter in the raid so they can MD.
