Ok, might be a noob question, but I was reading the Precision talent today and noticed it says for max rank:

Quote:
Increases your chance to hit with melee weapons and spells by 3%.

I think I remember reading that Righteous Defense was affected by melee hit now, not spell hit, but the wording on this talent is a little confusing. So my question is does this talent work with Righteous Defense? Where it says "melee weapons", does that really mean it increases your melee hit by 3%, or just for weapon attacks only as the wording suggests?

Thank you :)

Was going to go spec into it after having 2 resists in a row, both of which lead to some deaths ... It was embarrassing, especially since I have OptiTaunt which announces it to the raid >.<

Well, either way, I think it might be wise to just grab it if you are main tanking raids precisely for the last bit that you said there. Resisted taunts definitely mean deaths, especially since ours is on a 15 second cooldown, and anything you can do to lower the chance of that happening would probably be best.

Probably so, but I am loathe to give up Pursuit of Justice. The speed while in combat has really been nice, particularly for getting back into Grull's melee range: hell, pretty much any fight with repositioning it's nice being able to do so a little bit faster.

You know.. I did a quick search through Maintankadin to find no theorycrafting on this at all, just the assumption by everyone there that it does indeed effect Righteous Defense. You'd think it would be worded "with melee attacks" rather than "melee weapons".

Still, I don't know of any other mechanic that would work in that manner, so I'm going to go on assuming it does effect RD. I'll keep my eyes out for math on it though, and I'll start parsing my recorded combat logs for it if I ever spec OUT of Precision, but I don't think I'll be doing it just in the interest of proving this one way or the other.
