ok this might be a total display of noobishness but I would really like some of your opinions on armor.
I am a 62 mage and I want to make sure I am not wasting time or I want to use my time efficiantly I know that rep, pvp (honor) + (marks) boss drops etc is where I get the best stuff from I am looking for various opinions on what the best armor or armor sets are so I can spend time in those battle grounds or those instances or in certian areas to get rep or is the arena gear what I should be focusing on and if so is there certian gear there I should aim for?

I'll respond before anyone else does, with the typical questions:
What do you want to do with your character? PvP, PvE, do you plan on raiding at 70, etc etc.

as stated above, what do you plan on doing with your character? If you say a bit of everything expect to get a bit of all the specified types of loot.

Until 70, dont really worry about any armor except maybe tailoring.
Quests will give you plenty of great gear at your level, and really just focus on whatever instance is your level, and tailoring just make the best gear you can.
