portals?Follow

hey guys, started a mage alt so i can feal wat its like to do uber dps :D
closing in on 20 and just curious wat happens to learn portals?
do i hit 20 and learn to port to silvermoon, UC, TB and org? wats the deal?

Portals dont come til 40, teleports, you can get all but tb/shatt at 20 (i think i remember that)


I laughed at that, and i dont just mean the spelling. Mages don't really do uber dps, not in raiding, not in pvp, they just don't anymore.

Mages don't do "uber" DPS, no, but they do great single target damage if specced fire and no matter what, when it comes to AoE, they are amazing. Teleports you learn at 20 with the exception of Thunder Bluff which you can learn at 30. Portals you learn at 40 with, again, the exception of Thunder Bluff which you learn at 50. The teleport to Shat you learn at 60 and you learn the portal at 65.

the dps may not be uber, but doing 1500 sustained dps is pretty good to me (I don't mean AoE dps either).
