Awesome Duo: Druid and ?Follow

So, I rave about my druid(s) so much that my friend has decided to reroll and level up a horde druid. Since it's lonely on the top, I've decided to level up with him. But no druid because I already have enough of them :P

So, what character should I roll? He wants to go tank end game, so it seems it would make the most sense to go either dps or healer (preferably both) - crossing out warrior and probably pally (pally is crossed out anyways, because I just can't play an elf)

Rogue is no go 'cause I don't want to fight over who gets which leather drop.

So it's down to hunter, warlock, priest, mage, and shaman. I can see all of them being useful, though my friend is worried about the lack of healing with the pure dps classes. But I'm worried about the end game for the priest and shaman. Plus the lack of CC.

Despite what you think, priests are actually very good CC. Mind control is a tank you dont need to heal and CC in one, and shackle is VERY important against undead - especially in eng game.
With a hunter you could have your pet tank most pulls while he just DPSes in cat form. However, at first with a hunter or shaman you'd probably compete for gear. I'd roll with a priest, and go shadow, if I were you.

Go priest, that way you can own arenas end game as well. Disc priest + feral druid is actually one the combos that brings ferals the highest.

Awesome. Going with a priest is what my other research came up with as well. Though I wasn't aware they did well in arena (I though they were too squishy) so that's a bonus :P

I've leveled my druid up with a friend's shadow priest and we're not quite at end game yet but it's an insane leveling combo. You don't really need cc with two classes that can both heal and dps at that clip. And great for pugging 5-mans.

I, too, am leveling Druid with a RL friend's SPriest. She bubbles, DoTs up a few baddies, and then I shred each one to about 1/4 as her Dots finish them off, moving from one to the next.

It's bizarre, but she makes a great tank - mobs absolutely HATE those DoTs and mostly ignore the cat :p

A priest is a great choice. The heals are really nice, and you have the 2 most important pieces for any instance group. The priest can go shadow for leveling, and after 42 you can pretty much sustain yourselves on Imp VE and Imp LotP. You should rarely have to heal.

Contrary to what NCNecron says, I'd be shocked if a feral druid can't out threat a priest that's just dotting things up. I leveled my druid with a priest and had no problems holding the aggro in cat form. It's a great combo, and a lot of fun.

I don't fully understand why she keeps aggro the way she does - perhaps because she has a 2-3 second head start on me after she pulls them, dunno...Recount says I out-damage her by about 50% even with her head start.

Maybe if Omen is un-fubared tonight I'll see if I can make sense of it. Now I'm curious, I thought that would be normal, because it is so predictable with us.

The baddies will turn on me eventually, if the fight goes more than a few seconds. But it seems all I have to do is stay with auto-attack for a few ticks and it right back to shredding their backs.

Whatever the reason is, We like it and it runs like clockwork :)

Anyhow, the synergy is great. We can both rez, heal, DPS, and at least one of us can tank if need be. She can cure disease, and I can remove curse. Now that I have innervate, it is hard to get into a touchy situation where someone is completely OOM.

I too had started a combo with my girlfriends priest in the past week.

It's insane what we can do. I usually dash with kitty through 2 to 4 levels above us, gather together while she bubbles me and I begin tanking with my bear. It's crazy how efficient it is.

Also, we took on sin'dal (the final tiger mastery qst) last night both at level 31. He's 37, and we still left full health. No worries at all. Add's would had been fine, lol

I can see this being an awesome dual as we get more available talents and spells!

:)

If i were you i wouldn't roll priest unless you like to heal end-game. Shadow at 70 is about 10 seconds of hard damage and 30 seconds of bubbling and healing yourself. But if you like to heal, at 70 feral druid/holy,disc priest can be a good 2v2 combo. Another great combo is druid/warr. I'm talking about arena here not raiding, since i have no experience at s priest raiding.

Honestly, any combo is great. I have a tendency to group up with a rogue on my druid. He likes to go suicidal sometimes, and somehow we still pull through.

Leetler - You obviously haven't seen how much a Disc/priest can tear through **** end game and in pvp. There's a few ungodly disc priests on Battlegroup that literally in AB it takes the entire team to drop them and it makes me want to work on my priest more >.> So NO he won't HAVE to heal end game, and even Spriests hold their own at 70.

On another note, as far as i've heard Mind control except for in PVP doesn't work too well once you hit the outlands encounters...
