Weapons: 1800 rating requirement for Season 3 gear in Season 4.
Shoulders: 1950 rating requirement for Season 3 gear in Season 4.
As always, S4 will not be coming out with 2.4, and these changes will not happen until S4 is live.

That means i'll stick with my S2 gear. :)
Hoping they don't bump the requirement steeper on S4 gear when it comes.
their has been a lot of QQ about the rating only dropping by 50 but i hope blizzard doesn't get pressured into dropping it further.
season3 weapons are awesome and s4 weapons will be a bit better then those, s3 gear is a copy of BT gear so why should every person with a 1500rating be able to get s3 weapons? i could see blizzard taking so much slack about this that they drop the rating really low or just remove it which really isn't fair/truely welfare epics.
a lot of ppl in BT gear are able to manage to get s3 weapons due to gear they've gained from BT but to give a kara geared person s3 weapons isn't good.
i've also seen a lot of people saying.. they've only dropped it by 50? god wtf.. clearly these people don't deserve these weapons to begin with 50 points is anywhere from 2-4 wins and its not such an easy thing to do at the rating depending on what you come up againt, i know people that were stuck at 1830 for weeks unable to get over that even by switching up the teams theirs people that have been at 1847 since 2weeks into arena unable to get that 1850 so this change will help these people that i feel deserve it.. but putting it down to 1500-1600 would be BS.. truely welfare.
i would love to have s3 weapons but my skill doesn't warrant them just yet so i will earn them sooner or later with hard work not blizzard handing them to me for 1650rating.
just my two cents on the subject.

People were expecting 1750 imo.
And why is it "OK" that any nub can walk around with 1400 ratings yet still get weapons equivalent to Kael/Vashj drops? Its OK with you that I could literally be rated 1200 yet have a T5 weapon, but someone else could be 1789 and not be allowed an Illidan weapon?
Giving any of the weapons away without rating was retarded. Season 1, 2 and 3. Even Prince can be a *****, especially before everyone got welfare gear and we actually raided kara in dungeon blues. But every asshat got a season 1 (read: Prince) weapon, everyone gets a Kael/Vashj weapon.

well im not going to agrue cause i agree with some of it, yet i would never walk into kara with s1 gear on other then weapons cause then im just hurting the raid and might aswell not go.
s2 weapons are quite good but fall short of t5 swords(Talon of Azshara)we had two of these drop back to back but if you cant get your hands on a ToA then s2 is the best for you..
i dont know tho.. everyone with s3 weapons will have s4 weapons sooner or later so it really wont matter and by the time that s3 would be going to honor Xpac would be hitting us so a green level 71 will most likely out shine it like when BC came out.
its a lot of points but you could MH that new badge fist with OH sword.. if were talking pvp/arena and your unable to get s3-s4wpns and your not combat you should be saving heroic badges for http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34893
well im just talking out my ***.. so ill stop there but i do agree with you in some sense, a rating on wpns from day one would of been wise, and i would love it if they were 1750 with 2.4 but i also see the sense in 1800 cause their such awesome weapons. highest i ever got was 1774 in 2s early wednesday morning a few weeks back.. if it was 1750 id have a MH s3 wpn.

regardless of who gets what tier weapons,
it doesn't justify ppl QQing about dropping the 2k rating for shoulders or the 1850 rating for weapons.
some may qq: oh i don't have the gear to hit 2k
sorry...with enough skill, you can hit 2k as if right now, with full season one, it's hard, but it's possible, and yes it's been done.
i think the problem is that arena points are so easy to acquire now that people sell them towards the end of the season, and there's also people that sell personal ratings, though it's quite challenging to sell a 2k 2s rating to a person who might be QQing about the high rating requirements in the first place, most likely due to skill related issues.
i'd just like to point out to those who think arena gears are free epics. it's no different from pve, you have to work for it, ppl go up to 2400 ratings, and you're QQing about 1850? what's next? are you gonna be asking for an increase percentage of teams to get the Gladiator titles because you can't get in the top percents? and since you're qqing about 2k ratings, assuming you're at 1999, are you expecting top 40% teams to be nominated for Gladiator titles?
