If you had actually watched the show you would know that Ma-ti is not native american but south american.

rake is best if you want combo points and you want em now, say, if youre trying to get a longer duration maim on a caster.

other than that, its just a bit more insurance against rogue vanish or a way to hurt prot warriors/paladins/bear druids a tad more.

and also...capt planet? wtf?

I tried a whole week without Rake and although I admit it's nice to rely almost solely on Mangle for every hit, I did miss the little extra DoT damage that you get from Rake. I think I'll add it back to my action bars - the quick combo point buildup and extra DoT is nice enough to give it a nod.

Well, on my Level 70 Feral Druid, i mostly use Kitty form for playing, though i am ok to do offtanking when needed, but fulltime tanking is a big fat NO!.

When in cat form, here is what i do: (please note, i have yet to do any raids, so this might not work on them due to their insane immunuities to CC or anything that stops their actions)

1: Prowl (stealth obviously)

2: pounce (5-6 second stun + a nice bleed dot)

3: get behind and Shred x2 (if specc'ed to lower cost of Shred)

4: Mangle (this adds a debuff to the mob that increases all bleed damage to the target by 30%)

5: Rip (this gives another Bleed Dot and combined with the pounce dot, it gives nice dots with mangle)

6: mangle 3-5x (depending on crits)

7: Ferocious Bite or Rip again (depending on how much health is left on the mob you are fighting, if still a decent amount of health, rip is the one to do, but if close to death, then Ferocious Bite is best.)

Thats worked for me in the past, but due to too many demands to tank fulltime, i have recently stopped playing the druid.

Also, i advise to cause as much damage as possible, cause dots don't count towards the DPS meter, only instant and direct damage does, ie. mangle, Ferocious Bite etc.

Cause before i figured that out, i was always ******* at for being low on the dps meter, if the dps meter counted dots as well as direct damage, the druids and affliction warlocks dps levels would skyrocket on the meter. :)

Any decent meter counts DoT effects, I use Recount. It breaks your total damage down by source, and tracks the average and max damage from different attacks. You can see how much your bleeds tick for, how many times you missed with Rip, and how much energy you got back from 2T4.

Also, you should Mangle before Shred; Mangle increases the damage from Shred by 30%.

/cast [stance: 3] !Cat Form
/cast !Cat Form

The ! keeps the macro from running when you're still under GCD.
