Enhacement EndgameFollow

#1 Mar 19 2008 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZEicdExsAuqo This is my current build I hit 70 acouple weeks ago. I was Enhace/Resto but I decided to just go all Enhacement so I can keep the defensive advantages enhacement tree provides. But I wanted to know how this build might work in raid instances?

I also wanted to know if I get the right gear would I be able to tank 5-man instances and possibly heroics? I've tanked places like Ramparts and Sunken Temple.

I PvP alot and It's been an ok build so far. But I only been doing BGs, Will this build work in Arena?

Rules of playing Enhancement:

1) http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t13297-enhance_shaman_collected_works_theorycraft_vol_i/

2) http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t13297-enhance_shaman_collected_works_theorycraft_vol_i/

3) Nature's Guidance, leading to this typical build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZxVbdVMsAuqoxbez

4) Enhancement Shaman are *not* tanks

As for PvP and arenas, make sure you're with a good team, 1 on 1 as enhancement can be very frustrating.

Enhancement has defensive advantages? Do tell.

Poorly. Shield Spec. and Imp. LS suck period, and both Anticipation and Toughness are completely wasted in raids where you shouldn't be taking many hits (and if you are, that 5% dodge or 10% armor isn't going to save you).

You're missing Totemic Focus, Totemic Mastery, and Nature's Guidance out of Resto, all three talents I consider vital to a raiding Enhancement build. You want all the hit you can get when dual-wielding, thus Nature's Guidance, and although your DPS is great, that's not why raids are bringing you along; they want your melee buffs, hence the two Totemic Talents (the first of which you could arguably live without, but the range increase from Mastery is completely mandatory IMO).

No.

No. Shaman don't have builds that work well in both raiding and the arena. A PvP Enhancement build looks quite a bit different than a raiding build. However, that tends not to matter much in light of the fact that Enhancement Shaman suck badly in the arena in general, but it would be much, much worse with your current build.

Raiding build.

PvP build. Much of this is arguable and/or to taste, but the point is that you want 21 points into Resto for Nature's Guidance.

Tanking as a shaman is a novelty at best - yes you do get to wear a shield, but you need far more than that in order to properly tank. Threat multipliers above and beyond frost shock is needed to maintain TPS. While I could say that the avoidance isn't necessary because Druids at the heroic/Kara level only have 35-40% total avoidance, Druids can cope with the lack of avoidance; Shamans in their current state cannot. Because Shamans use mana, they do not have a mechanic to regenerate it outside of water shield, mana spring, mana pots, outside buffs and the focused state (whatever it's called in talents).
