Edit: I forgot say I was sorry for making myself a target for you to insult behind a monitor. But thanks for all the information you provide on here, I'm working on becoming a better rogue all the time thanks to the info. Although I am a little confused as to why you say any rogue not using swords since 2.3.2 is a dumbass, but all I can see when I armory you (which is often since I like to see where I want to be in regards to pvp gear/gems/enchants) is maces.
Edit 2: How freaking ironic is that, I armory one more time to check something and boom, swords.
It's alright, you didn't know you were making yourself a target. To tell the truth I'm bored of playing AV all day (I have a couple weeks off), and this was a nice distraction (plus the oboards) from how awful 99% of the people that play this game are.
Re: the swords thing, I had honor lying around and mats for mongoose. I was also tired of the mace models, and needed a MH sword for running ZA with my guild, so I picked up a s1 slicer.
The reason--in case you haven't guessed--that I tell people they're dumb for not picking up swords (I had my maces from the HARP days) now is because with ShS it doesn't matter what you use: fists, swords, or maces. In PvE, though, it
does. Combat swords is the highest DPS build by a fair margin, so you'd be dumb to not take swords.
Considering there have been no buffs planned for anything in combat (and TBH, I really doubt they'll buff combat in PvP), I think it's safe to say that the days where maces were king are over.
Of course, even if they do buff combat, swords are a more burst-oriented spec than maces, which suits most playstyles better than the slowdown that mace spec plays as. I'd still consider them a viable option to combat maces in PvP.
