Warbringer (+Racial) vs Sun Eater vs Kings DefenderFollow

I've been wondering about this... Hopefully there are some opinions (or hard facts and rainman-type-math to back them up) from this community.

Conventional Wisdom seems to dictate that, as far as tanking weapons, The Sun Eater and King's Defender are kindof the cream of the crop as far as Tanking (Mitigation) weapons from Heroics/Kara/Faction are concerned.

Unfortunately... as an Orc... the fact that there are no comparable axes is a bit of a downer. Life would be significantly easier if I could land one of the premier tanking weapons around my point in the progression, and thanks to my racial Axe Specialization (Expertise... yum), not have to worry as much about any TPS stats I'm sacrificing in other slots.

Most comparable and acquireable Axe I can see is the Warbringer from Thrallmar (just wish I'd spent more time in HFC at lower levels).

Basically, it is inferior to either Sun Eater, Kings Defender or both in every stat but Defense Rating. However... the Racial Axe Specialization (+5 Expertise) should compensate for its shortcomings (esp in terms of TPS generation potential). I'm just not sure whether its enough to elevate Warbringer (for Orcs) to the same level as the two swords.

warbringer for tps is probably better. that expertise helps with shield slam and revenge, which are not based on weapon damage; but are a significant part of tps.

HS does include weapon damage for tps, but the added threat and damage from it come from the speed of the weapon more than the dps of the weapon.

1.8 vs 1.6, minor difference, not enough to seriously impact HS tps.

but for devastate, the warbringer has a higher top end damage, so i think I'd go with the warbringer for straight tps fights. and use the sun eater for your mitigation/avoidance set.

king's defender has a higher dps though, so if you need to DPS a fight (extra tanks, OT, etc...) i'd go with that for that kind of fight.

Their is The Brutalizer...

I'd say Supremus isn't in easy reach if he's asking this question at the moment, though.

Thats a fair assessment :).

Thanks for the feedback. Though I wonder whether or not this issue will be rendered moot by 2.4 anyway. Will probably be live before I can get any of the 3.
