My greatest moment as a mageFollow

This happened a while ago, and I've been wanting to post about it, never got around to it.

It was when I was during my Kara-attunement phase. I was running Shadow Labyrinth to get my first key frag. We made it to the second boss, Blackheart the Inciter, the one who mind-controls the entire party. I got killed pretty quickly at the first mind-control, and was ghostwalking back (having been told it's the only boss.. anywhere.. in which it's actually feasible to ghostwalk back and rejoin the fight). On my way back I was watching the party's healthbars, and it looked like a sure wipe: it wasn't long before only the tank was still alive and the others were dead, not ghostwalking (maybe I heard wrong).

I was in a hurry to get to the boss, thinking maybe if the tank could stay alive we could finish him, so I hadn't buffed up when I got inside the dungeon. On my way to the boss I must have been in range of his Incite Chaos, because I was suddenly mind controlled and walking back and forth alone in the corridor. Not having anybody to target, the MC used two spells: Combustion and Molten Armor.

After the mind control expired I continued rushing to get to the boss, when suddenly after I turned the corner I saw his big *** running right for me, the tank was nowhere in sight. I figured, oh sh*t he'll probably one-shot me, and he took a huge swing at me before I had time to react, leaving me with a tiny sliver of health. At first I thought I'd been killed, but instead of me dying, the boss keeled over dead: he was killed by the Molten Armor, which his mind-control had made me cast. It had dealt a whopping 99 damage to finish him off. :D

I was running steamvault with a pickup group. Had a warrior tank, a hunter who was first time there, another mage of almost entirely same spec and gear and a healer priest.

On the last boss, we did not destroy the very first container in time. The boss gain additional attack speed and damage which our healer couldn't keep up with. Tank and hunter died, leaving us clothies at about half life and the boss.

What happened next was almost as funny as it was identical. Both of us mages pop mana shield, Frost nova, fire bolt, and ice lance went off together in pairs then we move in opposite directions, trying to kite the boss who is now about 1% left and comes after me. I popped ice block half a second earlier. The boss turned towards the other mage. I cancelled ice block just as he turned away and throw a fire blast just as his hit lands on the opposite ice block.

The fireblast killed the boss. When we look at the damage meter, both of us were the top 2 damage dealers through the entire instance at about 34% apiece, the difference in total damage I dealt is only about 1000 damage more than my counterpart -- you guess it: because of the last fireblast. The entire PUG had a good laugh immediately.
