2.4, Badges and Speccing.Follow

#1 Mar 18 2008 at 7:30 PM Rating: Decent
I'm currently a Combat Swords Rogue.
Heartless in my MH, Merc. Quickblade in my OH.
Noticed recently that there are no swords available for badges in 2.4, but there is a pretty decent fist. This got me thinking.

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33388 <--Current MH

What I was going to try to do was get the fist and spec this way:

It seems discouraged nowadays to go 2 different weapon specs, but with the not-so-recent-but-kind-of-recent changes wherein Offhand sword procs will proc as if it was mainhand, it would seem like a decent spec. 5% increased crit chance for SS along with a HIGH DPS Fist with decent Top-End damage and a very fast offhand sword sounds good to me.

Any comments? I know this was probably addressed before but I was looking and couldn't find anything, so I apologize if this is a repost.

**Edit: Also, the fist is FASTER with HASTE RATING.
**Edit: Messed up link for spec, fixed.

Fist/fist will beat fist/sword with your OH.

Start savin' those badges!

Well, I don't have a fist offhand, and one of the reasons I want to try this spec out is because of the sword OH and its procs.

yeah. i think you should stay with the swords. although the dps looks high on the fist it has a 2.5 weapon speed. and that can effect alot.

There's a 1.5 speed fist offhand for badges too.

The fist MH is better than Heartless in every way, apart from the fact it's a fist. Much higher white dps, higher average damage (which is what matters for SS, not the weapon speed itself) and better offensive stats.

If you're going to be lazy, don't bother posting about getting higher DPS; you'll never top the meters.

The 2.4 fists beat any combination until you get to the T6-quality weapons, i.e. 103 DPS, i.e. 2.4 fists/S3 swords/MH&BT loot.

The DPS spreasheet has now cookie-cutter talent builds for swords, fists and combination of them, available at a (double) mouse click. You can check the projected DSP, AND get your talent build advice.

For what I was checking for myself: if I get enough badges in time, I will just spec combat fists. If not, it will be combat fist/sword until I get more badges.
