Korz UI v6.0 sneak peek.Follow

So in the search for an even better UI setup, I've dumped a lot of my old addons in favor of new ones.

The most noticeable will be to the people that have followed all of the incarnations of my various UIs in the past year.

I've dumped Pitbull in favor of Xperl (GASP). It's lighter weight, can show people's spec, and has a really nice feature of showing buffs/debuffs on target with numeric counters, with your own debuffs on target showing up HUGE.

Another shock will be that I dropped EBB in favor of Buffalo and Stun Watch.

The results? Addon memory is down to 20 MB, from 25-30 in v5.

Enjoy the two screenshots I'm giving you guys.

Oh, and keep in mind: this UI is always designed with PvP (arena) in mind, and nothing else.

I had heard about this and planned on investigating, but then I remembered that I only did arenas for funsies to farm points, and my apathy kicked in.

Looks good though.

I started using ag_unitframes recently myself.

I'm pretty new to dealing with the more "high impact" UI mods, like unit frames, that completely replace/change things.
I tried xperl once and found it was a pain to get everything set up, adjusted, and tweaked so i dropped the idea. Once i tried aguf everything seemed to go smoothly, just needing some minor setup and dialing in the options to my liking.
I think it boils down to the fact that xperl was definitely not a bad mod, just more sofisticated than i needed.

Heh, if Xperl was too sophisticated, don't ever try Pitbull. Smiley: tongue

Looks pretty sweet, been looking to try xperl myself,

i tried bongos 2 for a couple days, thought it was ok, but it brought major lag to my game, my 2v2 rating plummetted 200 points, we were yelling at eachother over vent blaming eachother, it just wasnt flowing for us, then a few things bugged, like i couldnt put new poisons on my blades, it seemed to be stuck, so i removed bongos and we wont the next 20 games straight and got back all the lost points and then some

This one seems much more messier and cluttered than your last few.

I am sure that for hard-core PvP people, all of the stuff on the screen makes sense, but for me it is just too much. I know for arena you would need focus and ToT, but some of the sophistication that drew me to the UI is lost since the minimalism is gone.

Is it possible with Xperl to get rid of the borders and make the bars rectilinear? How much "tweakability" do Xperl have?

Do you have anything to show enemies' cooldowns?

Don't hate on this question...

Did you see HappyMinty's new video? I was just wondering what some of those adds were, like the warming when your opponents CD's are up.

I have to agree.

I'm also kinda surprised about your switching X-Perl in for PitBull: it's usually possible to work out someone's spec via the abilities they're using or other AddOns like Proximo. My UI has a major memory footprint, admittedly, but the game still runs perfectly fine with it and X-Perl is (IMO) butt-ugly.

Buffalo for EBB I understand (I switched out EBB for ClassTimer and PitBull Auras on myself ages ago) but I'm really not that keen on this version. All the scales are massive, your ToT frame (I think) isn't aligned with your Target frame which looks kinda silly, no transparency...

Also, I thought you were against moving portraits? xD

Time is a huge factor in arena. I can't spend more than 10 secs trying to figure out what exact spec someone is, because it's a waste of my time.

In my BG, people come charging out of the gates and start spamming AoEs, so you pretty much have time for a quick, "pop on the lock, switch to the druid when he starts healing" before you have to jump someone or you're out of stealth.

And IMO the only reason people think it looks messier is because I dropped Pitbull for Xperl, which is OK with me. I'm going for usability, not beauty.

I've also jumped at least 10 FPS using this setup.

EDIT: BTW, if you look, my ToT frame lines up perfectly with my target's portrait frame, and the scale is there so that I can easily see what's going on in arena. And no, I'm not against moving portraits, just the ones in Pitbull apparently, since Xperl doesn't become the size of a beached whale with them, versus Pitbull.

Looks clean and pretty solid. I'm not a fan of having my frames in the middle of my screen, as I generally like to see how far away that melee is from my cloth-covered ***. Other than that.. cool.

New screenshot.

Changed some stuff up, I feel like its becoming more balanced/light weight like v2-5 have been.

Enjoy.

Looking better.

I would switch the BigNoodleOblique for the regular BigNoodle (because italic font's should only be used in literary citations...)

What were you using to track debuffs on yourself?

Definitely a great improvement. I'm not sure about the texture of X-Perl being used on your Capping bars or the use of two fonts (BigNoodleTitling and Adventurer?), though. If there's a way to get your Target-of-Party bars in line with the party name blocks (height and length-wise) that'd make it pretty much perfect (I still prefer the customizability of PitBull but that looks pretty badass too).

Also, your poisons are running out. You may wish to reapply them.

The font that Parrot and SLC, etc has is Bazooka. Xperl font can't be changed to my knowledge, so that's the default font for my ClearFont2.

Theo,

I downloaded your v2 or v3 a while ago and tweaked it to my liking. Been using that ever since. After 2.4 some addons stopped working, I thought I updated them all, but my KILLING BLOW still wont come up like it use to. What program was that? the one that announced KILLING BLOWS with sound and with text on the screen? Thanks

Sound was done through NECB.

The text was through SCT.

Can't see people's spec anymore. First I thought it was an issue with xperl, but when I put up the new Proximo I found the talents option greyed out. Finally discovered a post in the Proximo comments section that the feature has been disabled by Blizzard.

Back to guessing and reading buffs...

Yeah, this has made me extremely frustrated in the past week.

Oh well, it was great while it lasted, I guess.

Well, as of last night Xperl is still telling me correct talents, so give that a whirl. I'm still having issues w/ parrot. I updated it, however it still wont display like it did pre-2.4, also im waiting for an updated Topscore_fu, because that quit on my too. Really annoying since i just hit outlands w/ rogue an my dmg is double what it used to be.

I switched to MSBT instead of Parrot.
